Marvel Rivals' latest Victory Against Overwatch 2 is now set in stone

While Marvel RivalsPlayer count was a cause for concern before Daredevil's debut, Man Without Fear did a good job of bringing players back to the hero shooter, and the latest batch of content that was so well received should keep players hooked for a bit longer. Overwatch 2on the other hand, it's promoting its 20th season as a game-changer, with hero 45 and other big additions just around the corner. However, season 19 feels like a bit of a “filler” season. Its big addition is the new Halloween LTM with some earning rewards also associated with this mode. However, when comparing the rewards and playable content side-by-side, it's hard not to see Marvel Rivals as in one step ahead at the moment.

Marvel Rivals' free cosmetics remain unmatched

the wondrous rivalry of the skin of the blade

One of Marvel RivalsThe most impressive feature is its free unlocking. While Overwatch 2 events rarely reward new skins for free (and when they do, they come in the form of simple recolors of existing skins, like Lucio's summer games outfit), almost always cosmetic grinding is required Marvel Rivals. Most of these skins are also in high demand, whether it's Ultron's desolate skin that players worked to get during Season 4, or Symbiote Thing's unique skin in Season 3. The Halloween spotlight won't disappoint either, as players can get a Blade skin that many would probably be willing to pay for.

The Blade Knight skin depicts Blade as an agent of Khonshu, with the outfit directly based on Blade's appearance from the animated series. Marvel Zombies. As a replacement for Marc Spector, Blade has all of his usual day walker powers in addition to the powers granted to Khonshu, making him the ideal survivor in a world filled with the undead. Players will be able to unlock this skin and related cosmetics simply by progressing through the digital board game and continuing Marvel Rivalsa series of star event rewards. When I compare it with Overwatch 2Haunted Masquerade event rewards, the difference is night and day. Sure, the cardboard mask charms are cute unlock buttons that reference the LTM and allow players to mimic their favorite heroes on their weapons, but there's nothing major about it like a Blade skin to earn.

Marvel Rivals also wins the Halloween LTM contest

Marvel RivalsThe cool new Blade skin will be right at home in Marvel Zombies' PvE mode, as he's one of five characters players can choose from to battle the hordes (Thor, Jeff the Land Shark, Magik, and Punisher round out the cast). When the mode got its first teaser, fans weren't all that impressed, with many expecting it to be a rushed attempt at co-op added purely to tick the PvE box. However, the full trailer received more positive feedback, with the hero upgrades and difficulty levels showing real promise. With the mode now live, positive feedback has been pouring in, with praise for the boss battles and unique playstyles of the heroes outweighing some bugs and stability issues.

For a first attempt at PvE, Marvel RivalsThe Zombies mode shows promise and there's room for it to grow into something even more special over time. It may lack the replayability of something similar Call of Duty Zombies because it has a mission structure that is more comparable to something similar Overwatch 2Wrath of the Bride, but adding a few more boss fights and playable heroes could make a big difference. If the mode proves to be a long-term hit and not just in the early days, it could gain more maps or at least inspire more PvE content. If this happens, Marvel Rivals could eventually offer a healthy number of co-op and multiplayer experiences. Even in its current form, Marvel Zombies has decent depth and some satisfying gameplay, even if players only get through a mission once or twice.

Marvel Rivals developer NetEase described Marvel Zombies as its “first-ever” PvE mode, suggesting that more co-op experiences are already being planned for the game.

As regards Overwatch 2it's been a while since the game received fresh PvE content, and Season 19 did nothing to fill that void. Sure, players can replay Junkenstein's Revenge, but this tower defense-like experience is one that players have had for nearly a decade. Those who only care about PvP may be perfectly happy with Haunted Masquerade, but that seems unlikely as the mode has been met with mostly negative feedback due to excessive synergies, dropouts, and technical issues. Not only is the refreshing Marvel Zombies mode a winner compared to the aging Junkenstein's Revenge, but it surpasses it. Overwatch 2New LTM focused on PvP. Combined with the free Blade Knight skin, it's clear as day Marvel Rivals is a better hero shooter to play this Halloween.
