Shortly after the cadets finished training, the Colossal Titan struck again, giving Mikasa and her companions their first fight. Amidst all the deaths, the exit was blocked by a merchant and his carriage who refused to let anyone else in front of his precious carriage. An abnormal titan appeared and started running towards this crowd, but just then Mikasa arrived and quickly dealt with it. She was shocked and enraged to find that one man's selfishness was turning the deaths of her mates in vain. Threatening the merchant and his men, she forced them to leave the exit open and allowed the people to pass. This scene made Mikasa look like a formidable force and she quickly became a fan favorite.

Mikasa's tragic past
Despite growing up together, Mikasa's approach was very different. While Eren was passionate and impulsive, Mikasa was calm and focused. Even after joining the Cadets, she never felt like anything was a challenge or a shock to her. Season 1 Episode 6 helped fans understand Mikasa better by offering a glimpse into her past. Mikasa lived a peaceful life with her parents, but that ended when they were attacked by a group of human traffickers. Fortunately, Eren tracked them down and saved Mikasa by killing them. But he was only able to kill two of them and suddenly a third member appeared and was about to kill Eren. In that moment, Mikasa realized the cruel nature of the world where you have to kill or be killed. This gave her courage and determination and she killed the trafficker and saved herself and Eren. This also started her growing affection for Eren.

Dealing with betrayal
One of Attack on Titan's most impressive moments came in Season 2, Episode 6, when Reiner and Bertolt revealed their identities as the Armored Titan and the Colossal Titan. The scouting corps was already suspicious of them because of their unknown origin, which was related to Annie. But Reiner unexpectedly decided to simply reveal this information to Eren and tried to convince him to go to their homeland. Eventually realizing that he and Bertolt couldn't talk it out, he decided to rely on his Titan powers to achieve his goal. However, before they could transform, Mikasa acted quickly and slashed Reiner's hands and Bertolt's neck. She was seconds away from killing Bertolt, who had been saved by Reiner.

Armor Break
The basement containing the truth of the world was only reachable after the major battle of Shiganshina. While Eren and Armin set out to take down the Colossal Titan, the mission to take down the Armored Titan was left in the hands of Mikasa and the others. They planned to use the thunder lance to open the armor's mouth and shoot the thunder lance straight into it. Mikasa targeted the armored leg and immobilized it. They continued with their plan, but one of the thunder spears missed. Fortunately, Hange arrived at the right moment and hit the spot. Finally, Mikasa landed near the Armored Mouth and fired a Thunder Spear directly at him, forcing Reiner's body to leave the Titan.

He saves Eren against the world
Shortly after visiting Marley for the first time, Eren left his friends. He spent the following years in Marley in disguise, and finally his plans were set in motion when he met Reiner. He transformed into an Attack Titan and attacked Marley. He immediately became the target of the entire army, including the War Hammer Titan. He was overwhelmed by the firepower and the war hammer attacks revealed his human body. But just before the warhammer could attack his human body, Mikasa came to his aid. She fired 8 thunder spears at the back of the war hammer and instantly knocked it out. Even after the Warhammer was raised again, Mikasa fought it head on, allowing Eren to eventually find Lara Tybur's body.

I send Annie to her fall
The season 1 finale saw Annie's transformation into the Stohess District leading to a destructive battle between her and Eren. Before Eren's transformation, Mikasa fought the Titan head-on, but despite several attacks, she was unable to hold off the Titan. Eventually, Eren transformed and the two collided. Eren soon overpowers Annie, forcing Annie to flee. She tried to climb the walls, but Mikasa acted quickly, cutting her fingers and stopping the climb. She then gracefully landed on the Titan's skull, sending her crashing down.

The aftermath of heartbreak and acceptance
The sudden appearance of the Colossal Titan flooded Trost District with titans endlessly taking lives. Since the Survey Corps was gone, the cadets became responsible for protecting the people. Eren tragically lost his life saving Armin. Hearing this news, Mikasa looked calm as usual, but inside she was driven by emotions that made her act recklessly. She claimed that she was stronger than everyone else and would kill all the titans. She moved quickly to kill the titans, but soon ran out of gas and fell. She felt miserable after losing her family again and seemingly accepting the impending titan's death. But before the titan could hurt her, she reflexively defended herself and realized that she wanted to live on. She wanted to continue living with the memories of Eren she had. It was a touching scene that made Mikasa seem like the real main character of the anime.
