In a recent interview, popular Twitch streamer Tyler 'Ninja' Blevins has revealed that he once earned a staggering $6.7 million during his prime as a content creator. Ninja said the money came when his Twitch streams revolved around gaming Fortnite with celebrities and other content creators of the day.
As one of the biggest names in content creation, Ninja's career began in 2009 when he was a pro Hello 3 player. Since then, Ninja has played other titles including H1Z1 and PUBG: Battlegrounds. However, Ninja made a name for itself in 2017 and 2018 when Fortnite launched in Early Access with Save the World and Battle Royale modes. December 6 Fortnite has returned to its roots with the launch of Fortnite OG, a standalone game mode that takes players back to the original map, complete with music, sounds and menus from the early access days of the game. Fortnite OG attracted over 1.1 million players in its first two hours.

Ninja remains one of the most watched channels on Twitch with an audience of over 19 million followers at the time of writing. Although Ninja spent most of his career streaming on the Amazon-owned service, Ninja also had an exclusivity deal with Mixer, which was Microsoft's failed Twitch competitor. Ninja streamed on Mixer from 2019 to 2020 and returned to Twitch after Mixer closed. Since then, Ninja has been broadcast on various platforms such as Twitch, YouTube and TikTok.
While other Twitch streamers like Kai Cenat continue to set subscriber records of their own, Ninja's earnings in a single month are a testament to how lucrative content creation can be. Only time will tell what 2025 has in store for Twitch and other streaming services.
