The new Cyberpunk 2077 patch added Balatro Treasure Hunt

Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red surprised everyone earlier this week by announcing a brand new patch for the title, despite claiming to have moved on. It was also quite bulky, adding more vehicle and character customization options, improvements to the photo mode, and the ability for Johnny to show up in the passenger seat of your car and taunt you for being a bad driver.

Those were all the changes listed in the update notes, but it looks like CD Projekt Red managed to sneak something in for Balatro fans. Following a collaboration earlier this year where many games – including Cyberpunk 2077 – got their own special Balatro cards, Cyberpunk 2077 has now teamed up with the game for its own crossover.

The new Cyberpunk 2077 patch added Balatro Treasure Hunt

First shared by Twitter user Synth Potato, upon launching Cyberpunk 2077 you should receive a text message from a person named Jim B who has an avatar that looks like the face of the Balatro card. This mysterious Jim B asks you to find a gang of villainous Jokers that have escaped and are scattered around Night City and sends you untagged pictures of each of them to find.

In the spirit of the hunt, we won't post all the answers here. Instead, we're going to show you what you actually get when you tackle Jim B's fiendish little challenge. This treasure hunt was very quickly solved by a Twitter user named Vinalxo – who claimed to be the world's first – and shared images of what you actually get for finding all the Jokers.

For starters, it looks like you'll get a special little trophy in the V flat, which is a hand displaying a set of Cyberpunk 2077-themed Balatro cards, which are the same ones that were added to Balatro earlier this year. Vinalxo also revealed that you'll also get a t-shirt for your trouble, which is pure white with a picture of Jim B himself on the front. It's a cute little collaboration and a reminder that we'll never be able to escape Balatra, even if we play other games.
