Fans Grand Theft Auto franchise finally returns to Vice City when GTA 6 comes out later this year and lets them see what's happened to this Miami-inspired city since it was last playable. Although there is still much unknown GTA 6it was confirmed that the game would feature environments in Vice City and the surrounding state of Leonidas for players to explore. Some longtime fans may be excited to revisit all of their favorite Vice City locations to see what has happened to the city since it was last seen in the show's timeline, but they may want to brace themselves for disappointment.
Vice City originally debuted as one of three playable maps in the original Grand Theft Autobut won't be playable in 3D universe until release GTA: Vice City in 2002. With its Miami-inspired aesthetic, Vice City has a distinct personality that mixes the beach party lifestyle with the drug and gang wars the series is known for. Although these features are likely to remain GTA 6version of the city, the map design itself will likely look completely different from how Vice City fans remember it.
It's officially the end of an era for GTA 6
For fans who have waited 13 years for Grand Theft Auto 6, we are finally at the finale.
GTA 6 probably won't look like Vice City Fans of the series take note
The Grand Theft Auto the series has three main locations that it tends to visit in each entry: Liberty City, Vice City, and Los Santos. These three cities represent the original locations present in the first GTA game and were expanded with each subsequent performance. As the series evolved from a 2D universe to a 3D universe and finally to an HD universe, these cities were interspersed between the games they appear in and the Vice City of GTA 6 the same trend is likely to follow.
How Los Santos changed between GTA: San Andreas and GTA 5
-
Rodeo became Rockford Hills
-
Mulholland became Vinewood Hills
-
Santa Maria Beach became Del Perro
-
Verona Beach became Vespucci
-
Ganton became Davis
-
Jefferson became Rancho
-
Idlewood became Strawberry
In the jump from the 3D universe to the HD universe, Los Santos has changed quite dramatically, both in size and representation. The city of Los Santos itself v GTA 5 has the size of almost a whole GTA: San Andreas's map, and that doesn't include other surrounding locations that players can visit GTA 5. However, the most notable are the changes in some places in Los Santos, such as the Ganton neighborhood where Grove Street is located and CJ's home, which became Davis in 2009. GTA 5.
How Liberty City changed between GTA 3 and GTA 4
-
Portland becomes Alderney
-
Staunton Island becomes Algonquin
-
Shoreside Vale becomes Broker and Dukes
-
Bohan joins
-
The map is mirrored
Liberty City is undergoing another rather drastic series of changes GTA 3 and GTA 4. Not only are specific neighborhoods renamed, but the Bohan neighborhood is added, and the entire city map is basically mirrored between the 3D space version and the HD space version. These changes make Liberty City almost unrecognizable between the two games, further reinforcing the inevitability of a drastic redesign for Vice City in GTA 6.

Vice City has not been visited in the series' timeline since the 1980s
In addition to the maps of Grand Theft AutoIconic cities have undergone numerous changes in the jump from the 3D universe to the HD universe, GTA really only showed Vice City in its heyday in the 1980s. Both GTA: Vice City and Vice City Stories are set in the 1980s and the city is only revisited in the original series timeline GTAsetting in 1997. Many of the iconic locations that flourished in the 1980s will likely be gone by 2026, and while there may still be some vestiges of the past, the city that players have come to know will likely be something far different than the original Vice City in GTA 6.
