Season 3 Oshi no Ko has finally been officially announced and fans are very excited about it. Given how intense Season 2 ended – which pretty much left its viewers on the edge of their seat – this announcement has everyone excited about what's next in this gripping tale of revenge.
The announcement was accompanied by a new visual and PV with more to come. With the release date still under wraps, the series is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated anime of its upcoming season.
What will Oshi no Ko season 3 cover?
While not all details about the next season have been confirmed, based on the manga, it can be assumed that the adaptation will include a Mainstay Arc, a Scandal Arc, and a Movie Arc. Season 2 covered the Tokyo Blade and Private Arc, which adapted chapters 41 to 80, so logically, season 3 should continue with more main stories – roughly another 40 chapters.
The Mainstay Arc will delve deeper into Ruby Hoshino's journey in the entertainment world as she appears in a web variety show alongside her brother Aqua. Fans can expect more thoughtful and vengeful moves from Aqua as the dark secrets of the Hoshino family are revealed, including the big reveal of the identity of their father – Hikaru Kamiki, who will play a key role.
This arc also introduces new characters like young assistant director Shun Yoshizumi and his VTuber sister, Mimi Yoshizumi, raising the stakes with a glimpse into the toxic underbelly of the entertainment industry.
Returning crew and cast
As with the previous two seasons, Studio Doga Kobo will return to helm the animation and bring the signature flair that defines Oshi no Ko. Director Daisuke Hiramaki and assistant director Ciao Nekotomi will continue to helm the show, with Kanna Hirayama returning as character designer. The music, which was instrumental in setting the tone of the series, will once again be under the direction of Takuri Iga.
In terms of dubbing, Takeo Otsuka and Yurie Igoma will reprise their roles as Aqua and Ruby Hoshino, while Mamoru Miyano will voice Hikaru Kamiki. Fans can also look forward to stellar performances from the supporting cast, such as Megumi Han as Kana Arima and Manaka Iwami as Akane Kurokawa.
Where to stream Oshi no Ko season 3
Although an official streaming platform has not been confirmed, it is highly likely that HIDIVE will continue to offer global access to the series. HIDIVE was home to the first two seasons and played a key role in bringing the anime to an international audience, so it's safe to assume that will continue in season three.
What fans can expect from Oshi no Ko season 3
Season 3 promises even more of the unique blend of industry commentary and personal drama that defines it Oshi no Ko. With Ruby stepping into a more prominent role, Aqua uncovering more family secrets and introducing new interesting characters, this season will take the story to new heights. The tension between the characters and the exploration of the moral gray areas of fame and revenge will keep the audience enthralled.
While the release date is still a mystery, it is expected Oshi no Ko Season 3 is already in full swing.
