Pokemon GO Adding a new Pokemon to the Holiday Part 2 event

Pokemon Go has announced the second part of the holiday event, which will add costumed variants of Wooloo and Dubwool and a shiny Cetoddle. The event will be one of the last Pokemon Go will take place in 2024, run from December 22nd to 27th, and will have additional bonuses available to players.




Cetoddle is an Ice-type Pokemon from Paldea added by Niantic during Pokemon Gothe 2023 holiday event which, like the 2024 edition, added pocket monster variants to celebrate Christmas. Wooloo debuted in August 2021 on Pokemon Sword and Shield– a themed event that brought more animals like Zacian, Zamazenta and Falinks. The game with augmented reality brought more variants of the small Normal type, in September of this year Shiny and Dynamax Wooloo debuted.

Pokemon GO is announcing the first part of its holiday event, detailing the bonuses and Pokemon that will be available in the coming weeks.

Now, Pokemon Go revealed the Holiday Part 2 event, which will see the debut of costumed versions of Wooloo and Dubwool and a shiny Cetoddle. The event will run from December 22nd to 27th from 10:00am to 8:00pm local time, with a costumed Wooloo appearing as one of the wild spawns, which will also feature other monsters such as the regional variants of Rattatta and Zigzagoon. To get Dubwool in costumes, players will need to evolve Wooloo caught during the event. Cetoddle, meanwhile, will be one of the monsters available in the one-star raids that Alolan Vulpix, Galarian Darumaka, and Litwick have. Three-star raids will feature Snorlax and three other Pokémon, while five-star raids will have Giratina and Mega Raids with Mega Latios and Mega Abomasnow.

During the event, players will receive double XP when catching Pokémon and 50% more XP when participating in raid battles. From December 25th to January 5th, 2025, Daily Adventure Incense will last twice as long, while regular Incense will attract certain Pokémon on different dates. As usual, Niantic will release new Field Research tasks, Collection Challenges and Showcases. Timed research, available for $5, will give players rewards, including a Wooloo jacket to equip trainers. The in-game store will have two new avatar items, the Staryu Sweater and the Marshtomp, and the web store will sell two holiday-themed boxes.


With a two-part announcement Pokemon Go's holiday event, players know how the reality game will celebrate Christmas this year. In addition to these two events, a Community Day in December has already been confirmed, which will look back on Community Days held in 2024. Now the community is awaiting details on Charged Embers Hatch Day and New Years 2025, the last Pokemon Go confirmed events for 2024.
