Inkay is one of the most sought-after species in Pokemon Legends: ZA, thanks for adding Mega Malamar as one of the new Mega Evolutions added with the game. It is also one of the most difficult Pokemon to evolve as it requires a bit of work with the Nintendo Switch and Legends of ZAwith the new evolution system it's really hard if players don't know the trick.
Here, players will learn how to find and capture Inkay, and if so trick to evolve Inkay is doesn't workthen this guide might shed some light on why this is happening and how to fix the problem to make Inkay evolve into Malamar. Players will also find information on how to turn their Malamar into Mega Malamar, a Dark/Psychic-type Pokemon that breaks the game with its powerful attack combo.
How to get Inkay in Pokemon Legends ZA
To get Inkay in Pokemon Legends ZAplayers must travel Wild Zone 11, which is located in the lower right part of Lumiose City. Wild Zone 11 is unlocked once players defeat the first three evolved Rogue Mega Pokemon (Camerupt, Victreebel, Slowbro). Once players unlock this area, they will find Inkays roaming around pools of water only at night, so take a break from AZ Royale and go catch some squid.
Be careful with Alpha when you go to Wild Area 11 to catch Inkay
Clawitzerprowling around as it becomes increasingly difficult to deal with the swarming
Klauncherwill summon once the battle begins.
Once players secure Inkay (which will be around level 30), they can go ahead and try to evolve it. Some players may remember that trick to evolve it's a spin around their console, but it has a catch. This doesn't seem to work anymoreand the evolution arrow doesn't even appear in their thumbnail. Next, we'll dive into why this happens and how to fix it.
How to turn Inkay into Malamar
If players want to evolve Inkay into Malamar, they will need to be level 30 (minimum) and before spinning around their console, they should do the following:
-
Open the menu (x)then drive to Inkay.
- Select Inkay on OPEN his Pokemon table.
-
Now, turn the console upside down and the Evolve option will appear.
- Press Evolve turn Inkay into Malamar.
It is extremely important that players open the Inkay menu before turning the console over or this trick will not work. This way players will get Malamar on their team and now they will be ready to Mega Evolve it into Mega Malamar.
How to unlock Mega Malamar in Pokemon Legends ZA
To evolve Malamar into Mega Malamar in Pokemon Legends ZA players need malamaritewhich can be purchased at Quasartico headquarters is located in Magenta district of Lumiose. Players must invest 240 mega shards buy Malamarite and this Mega Stone will become available later in the adventure, so be prepared to defeat some tough Rogue Mega Pokemon (like Beedrill, Banette, and Hawlucha) first.
Once the players have malamaritethey should for Malamar to hold itand then gather enough Mega energy during combat and faucet (L). This will temporarily evolve into Mega Malamar, increasing Malamar Base stats by 100 in total (from 482 to 582), which is definitely a step up. Sadly, his buff is focused on SpDef, which won't do much for trainers in a game where players can move around their Pokemon at will and dodge attacks. Still, his other buffed stats (Atk, SpA, Spe) should be considered as Malamar has access to moves like Psyshock and Night Slash.
But perhaps, his strongest move is Topsy-Turvya special debuff move that used to be unique to Malamar that does something incredible: Turns all stat buffs into debuffs (and vice versa). This means that if the opponent has depleted SpA and Atk with Work Up, Malamar can turn it into a 6 Stage Dual Debuff, which is absolutely insane. With this move, Malamar/Mega Malamar becomes a pretty scary foe in a bumper fight.
