AND Pokemon fan shares a theory on how Pokemon winds and wavesA battle trick might work. While reveal trailer for Pokemon winds and waves was relatively long, over 3 minutes, compared to the very short announcement for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet at the time it didn't really show anything regarding the Gen 10 battle trick. Everything currently known about it comes from leaks and so it remains to be seen if it will be confirmed.

Pokemon winds and waves will launch in late 2027, according to insiders. All of these sources also state that there will be no more Gen 10 game reveals in 2026, essentially suggesting another trailer for Pokemon Day 2027, exactly one year after the reveal. This isn't officially confirmed yet, but it could make sense if the release happens around October/November 2027. If that's the case, the battle trick for Gen 10 might not debut until Summer 2027, so February 27 next year at the earliest.

Rumor: New Pokémon for Pokémon Winds and Waves Leaks Online

A semi-credible source claims to reveal the general design and writing for one creature in the upcoming Switch 2 release of Pokémon Winds and Waves.

Here's how the Pokemon Winds and Waves battle trick can work

A Reddit user named avocado-toast420 shared a post that is being speculated about Pokemon winds and waves” battle gimmick, connecting the strange rainbow symbol from Japan's official Gen 10 logo to the myths and culture of Southeast Asia. The theory is that the symbol could be a reference to the scarves and sashes used in Buddhist and Japanese religious art. The divine beings, referred to as tennyo, apsaras, hiten, and bodhisattvas, often wear magical robes, sashes, and scarves that represent their ascending celestial status The same could be true for Pokémon with this gimmick giving creatures some form of cloak, scarf, or sash, similar to how Terrastalization gave each Pokémon a crystal.

According to avocado-toast420's theory, these Pokemon could enter a temporary god state. Since it's often associated with death and rebirth in mythology, among other themes, this trick could give Pokemon new forms, abilities, or a different type. It wouldn't be too far Pokemon Legends: ZA's Mega Evolutions, and it could work similarly to a move introduced in Gen 9 called Revival Blessing, which revives a passed out Pokemon.

Interestingly, it would tie in perfectly with the leaked rebirth trick Pokemon winds and waveswhich would revive the Pokémon and potentially give it a new godlike form. These leaks have a bit of a complicated origin, as the first mention of a battle gimmick for Gen 10 came in TeraLeak, where it was mentioned that the plan was to add weather moves or something similar. After the official Gen 10 trailer, several leak accounts on social media started pointing to the symbol in the Japanese logos as the actual in-game battle trick symbol.

The battle gimmick for Gen 10 is called “majin” according to the leaks.

With the situation in Southeast Asia, the leaks about the rebirth mechanism, and the possible inspiration behind the symbol on the Japanese logos, it seems very likely that the avocado-toast420 theory could be correct. While not 100% accurate, it seems to have well thought out logic that would also have good universal application for Pokemon battles. WITH Pokemon ChampionsMega Evolutions, being just one of the various generation tricks, “majin” could be a great addition to competitive Pokemon by giving players an advantage to bring back KOed Pokémon.
