PS Plus Games of the Month Wish List for July 2026

PlayStation Plus Subscribers, at least those who subscribed to the Extra and Premium tiers, have been treated to a new introduction of PS Plus Extra games. Basically, instead of all the games coming out on the same day, they were built on scaffolding. PS Plus Extra still needs to add Farming Simulator 25, Blades of Fire and Black Desert before June is done, but some are no doubt already looking forward to PS Plus' July additions as well.

The PlayStation Plus Essential (Free) games for July are expected to be revealed on July 1st, while the Extra announcement is likely to take place on July 15th (barring any other experiments). Fans already know that the PS Plus Premium game for July 2026 is Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracybut it's worth considering what else might join the service in July (or soon).

PS Plus Free Game for July 2026: Elden Ring

PS Plus Extra has recently added major open world games such as Red Dead Redemption 2 and Star Wars Outlawsso the only real response is to make an equally good, if not better, lower level open world game. Elden Ring it would be a huge release for PS Plus and make July one of the best months of the year without a doubt.

Moreover, it would increase the anticipation for FromSoftware's new game Duskbloods (which is a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive), potentially bringing fans to Elden Ring Nightreignand it's been 4 years. There's no reason not to add it. It's also one of the defining games of this generation (and the kind of blockbuster addition that would catch the attention of lapsed subscribers).

• It offers hundreds of weapons, spells, armor and Ashes of War that allow players to create highly specialized builds.

• It includes memorable boss encounters like Malenia

• Worldbuilding was created in collaboration with fantasy author George RR Martin.

• It supports cooperative multiplayer, invasions, and player-generated messages that add to the community experience.

PS Plus Free Game for July 2026: Animal Well

If PS Plus adds even more open world games, it will also have to be “small” and there really is no better than Animal well. Elden Ring it needs no introduction, nor should it Animal wellbut more of them probably do not know the other. It looks like a simple pixel art Metroidvania game, but the way it rewards exploration, experimentation and discovery is unlike any other indie game on PS Plus. Regardless, it would be a unique addition.

PS Plus Free Game for July 2026: Under the Island

Under the Island I feel like that's exactly the kind of PS Plus indie gem that should be in the spotlight, and for good reason. The Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake is one of the biggest upcoming releases of 2026 and Under the Island is one of the best Zelda-like games on PlayStation consoles. Inspired by the top-down classic games, it offers exploration, puzzle solving and dungeon crawling that any fan of the series would recognize. It would be a nice way to enjoy yourself Zelda-as before THE Zelda game drops. It's the type of game that many PS Plus subscribers may have missed at launch, making it a perfect candidate for the service (especially for gamers who crave old-school adventure games with a modern sheen).

PS Plus Extra has a lot of ways it could go, but there are always some solid options. It's not like the PlayStation can really run out. Nioh 2 it would be fine from then on Nioh 1 it's in the catalog and would be a great addition to get people into it Nioh 3. Super Meat Boy was one of the free games for PS Plus in 2015, but adding it to the Extra catalog makes sense. AND Amniesa: The Dark DescentI couldn't give survival horror fans anything else to chew on while they wait Resident Evil RequiemDLC. Additionally, fighting games, co-op games, and mech games are all viable niches.
