Rockstar is “Looking At Doing Something” with LA Noir

All eyes are currently on Rockstar for Grand Theft Auto 6. With hopes for a new trailer and fears of further delays, fans, critics and even other developers are keeping a close eye on the studio. However, while GTA 6 is arguably the most anticipated game of all time, fans have also been hoping for a revival of older IPs like Bully and LA Noire.

Unfortunately, the studio didn't give a peep about these other game series until yesterday's event of the iconic game in Las Vegas. Among the many participants in the discussion was Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, who appeared in several appearances talking about GTA 6. However, this time he hinted that the developers are looking into reviving other IPs, specifically LA Noire.

I wouldn't blame you if you doubted him

As Stephen Totilo of Game File reported, Zelnick told interviewer Jenny Maas of Variety that the marketing campaign for GTA 6 would begin “soon,” but did not commit to a date. However, it wasn't until the next question that really shocked everyone. When asked if the studio is considering making more games for LA Noire, he simply replied, “yes.”

He quickly added, “You never know. The answer is generally that we're going to do something with all our intellectual property in the future, but not announce anything.” He also mentioned that if he has anything to announce, it will come directly from Rockstar and not himself.

Rockstar Has “Lots of Other Things Happening” Besides Grand Theft Auto 6, And I Hope One Of Them Is LA Noire 2

I know it's a pipe dream, but it's MY pipe dream.

There are a few things to take away from this. Strauss's immediate “yes” could be seen as a slip, which he tried to cover up by saying that the studio was looking at many of its past IPs. Or it could just be that Rockstar is already thinking about what comes after GTA 6, with several IPs being considered.

If Rockstar were to revive an old IP, LA Noire seems the most likely. Bully, unfortunately, may still have some negative connotations that forced him to change his name to Canis Canem Edit. Regardless of the case, it will be a while before we get any information on Rockstar's next game, especially considering how slow things have been with GTA 6.
