Boruto: Two Blue Vortexes has given fans a lot of exciting things to look forward to, but nothing quite likes the fans' attention the return of Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha. As is quite clear, neither Naruto Uzumaki nor Sasuke Uchiha are active in the story right now. Naruto Uzumaki was sealed away by Kawaki v Boruto: Two Blue Vortexeswhile Sasuke Uchiha turned into a tree in the story's timeskip. While both are incapacitated, fans know full well that they will eventually return.
Not only is it virtually confirmed the return of Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchihabut fans know very well that he will come back stronger than ever. Both Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke will have some awesome abilities in store for themand fans absolutely can't wait to see them go all the way again. As for Naruto Uzumaki, the new Tailed Beast power-up seems likely, while Sasuke Uchiha's time skip training already put him on par with Boruto's strongest characters.

Naruto Uzumaki will eventually return Borutoand every fan of the story knows that. When he comes back, he will get stronger and that was officially confirmed by Fishing and Ikemoto. It is because at this moment Sasuke Uchiha is much stronger than him.

IN Boruto Databookit was officially said Sasuke trained during the timeskip and grew stronger. As his strength grew, he surpassed Naruto. Of course right now Naruto is way below Sasuke's level. he said that Kishimoto has previously stated that Naruto and Sasuke must grow togetherand they must be equal in power.
As such, when Naruto returns, he will need to get stronger. The two ways it can strengthen include both Tailed beasts. Either Naruto Uzumaki can seek out the eight tailed beasts and possibly Kurama and borrow their chakra, or maybe he can absorb Jura's powersgiven that Jura is a Tailed Beast incarnate and cannot die.

As for Sasuke Uchiha, fans know very well that he trained during the timeskip. His training with Boruto he had already seen him reach a high level of power. Sasuke was able to fight and even injure Code without his limiters. To put it into perspective, Code without limiters is stronger than Jigen and Jigen was able to beat both of them Naruto and Sasuke with Six Paths abilities at the beginning of the series. Right now Sasuke is at his peak physically and when he comes back he should be strong enough to defeat the likes of Otsutsuki. An eyepiece upgrade for his Mangekyo Sharingan is also a big possibility.
I realize that Boruto started out as a sequel to Naruto, but because of Naruto's massive presence, it's been quite a journey. Boruto has finally shown himself to be a proper protagonist in his own right. But will he be a hero on the same level as his father? Or maybe even surpass him?
