Some Minecraft players are calling on developer Mojang to reverse recent movement bug fixes after they had an unintended impact on the speedrunning community. Last Minecraft the changes made it much harder to move quickly in the game, and it's somewhat surprising that Mojang is fixing this after so long.
There have been tons of different ones over the years Minecraft bugs found by the gaming community and Mojang generally tried to fix them as soon as possible. Some bugs are pretty harmless so they're not as big of a priority as something that breaks the game. For example, not so long ago, bad luck Minecraft a bug prevented one player from completing the game. Something like that, it's understandable how it can be a priority to fix. However, movement glitches that allow players to gain momentum faster have been in the game for a very long time, which is why speedrunners are confused by the recent change.

Hopefully 2025 will be a big year Minecraft. Mojang has recently changed the way it delivers content to players, focusing on more frequent, smaller updates to help keep the game fresh for players who play all the time. There is also a small matter Minecraft movie, which is currently set for release in April 2025. Whether or not Mojang reverses its motion bug decision, it's still going to be an exciting time for the game.
