If it hasn't already been made clear enough, Subnautica 2 will not be adding violence of any kind to the game, even as the Early Access period begins. And if that's something you can't get behind, then there are other games you can play, the developer revealed.
Specifically, if you crave violence, go play Sons of the Forest.

If Wolfenstein 3 is real, it must finally let us take down Hitler
According to the latest reports, Wolfenstein 3 is in production at MachineGames.
As first spotted by GamesRadar, in Subnautica 2's official Discord, the developer basically told players to go kick rocks if they're that into violence.
“We're not a killing game. If you want to kill, go play Sons of the Forest or something like that,” wrote a developer named Artie on Discord.
If you're wondering what exactly Sons of the Forest is, apparently it's an ultra-violent survival game.
“Enter a world where nowhere is safe and fight against an array of mutated creatures, some almost human-like and others unlike anything you've ever seen. Armed with pistols, axes, stun batons and more, protect yourself and those you care about,” notes the game's Steam description.
This response reportedly came after a player asked about the lack of violence and suggested that modders might be the difference.
Depending on who you ask, the answer is either justified or an example of the developer going too far with their response to criticism and fan feedback.
“We want your feedback” is not the same as “We will bend to your every request,” one user wrote in response. “If everyone went early access and said, 'We want it to be an fps, but like Earth in modern times,' would they be wrong to say, 'Go play COD instead'?”
Another called it “extremely disrespectful”.
Subnautica 2 developers had hinted words before
Before the game's official release, Subnautica 2 was leaked early, probably due to an unencrypted upload on Steam, similar to what Forza Horizon 6 experienced, but different from what happened with Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight on Xbox.
Either way, getting the game out early was something the developers were understandably not a fan of.
“Thanks for pirating a game I've been working on for years,” the developer wrote on the same Discord. “I'm disappointed you did this when this is how we make a living. I hope you reconsider your life choices.”
Regardless of which side you fall on, it's clear that the developers of Subnautica 2 won't hold back their opinions.
