The 8 strongest characters that would destroy Goku in a fair fight

Goku is one of the greatest martial artists in the Dragon Ball. Time and time again he manages to overcome opponents much stronger than himself and break through his limits. Goku's fight record is incredibly impressive, even with his many defeats Dragon Ball Super. Even when Goku became strong, he struggled to defeat some of the most powerful characters Dragon Ball Super without help.

There are several in a fair one-on-one fight Dragon Ball Super characters that would absolutely destroy Goku – even now that he has mastered Ultra Instinct. The strongest Z-fighters and villains alike are capable of overpowering Goku. At the end of the day, Goku's greatest strength isn't his literal strength, it's his friends and allies who are always there to help him out of a jam. Without them, Goku wouldn't win nearly as often as he does.

Goku defeated Moro with only Vegeta & Uub's Help

Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku was more than strong enough to defeat Mor before the Planet Eater absorbed Merus' powers. By giving Moro the Senzu Bean, Goku also gave Moro the opportunity to become stronger than ever before. Absorbing Merus' powers turns Mor into the first Ultra Instinct-capable villain in the series. Ultra Instinct Moro quickly catches up to Goku in power and completely rivals him in their final battle.

However, Mora's body cannot handle the Angelic Ki and it quickly begins to destroy him from the inside out. In order to survive, Moro bonds with the literal Earth and begins draining the energy from all life on the planet, growing stronger in the process. Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku is quickly overpowered and would not have stopped Mora without the help of Vegeta and Uub. In a proper one-on-one fight, Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku would eventually lose to Planet Moro and die along with the rest of Earth.

Goku needs to team up with Vegeta and Granolaha to fight the gas

Granolah the Survivor Saga finally shows what happens when someone uses dragon balls to become the most powerful person in the universe, and it's not pretty. After Granolah uses the cereal dragon balls to become the most powerful fighter in Universe 7, Elec gets the idea to use the dragon balls for himself to empower his brother Gas. Gas becomes the most powerful warrior in U7 and ages whenever he is surpassed.

During Granolah the Survivor Saga, Gas continues to grow to the point where he overpowers Goku, Vegeta, and Granolah. Things get so out of control that the trio has no choice but to work together to fight the gas. Even then, Gas survives everything they throw at him, aging into an extremely powerful shell of a man whose power completely twists him. There's just no way that Goku could fight Awakened Gas at full power and beat him.

Vegeta already beat Goku Fair & Square at the end of Super Hero

Vegeta never actually lost to Goku in a fight, but before Dragon Ball Super: Super Herohe never felt like he really won fairly. Goku and Vegeta spend the entire run of the film fighting each other in a B-plot, slowly wearing each other down without using their transformations. In the end, Vegeta proves to be the more skilled and stronger fighter as he knocks Goku down first with one final blow.

Naturally, a head-to-head fight between Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku and Ultra Ego Vegeta would have to look very different, but there's a good chance that Vegeta will win. Ultra Ego makes Vegeta stronger the longer he fights, putting Goku at a serious disadvantage if he doesn't take out Vegeta immediately. As long as Vegeta can move fast enough, Ultra Ego's destructive power will be able to completely destroy Goku.

A true legendary Super Saiyan Broly would wipe out Goku one on one

Broly has the most potential of all the Saiyans Dragon Ball. In his base form, Broly was already strong enough to completely overpower Super Saiyan God Goku and Vegeta Dragon Ball Super: Broly. Before transforming into the legendary Super Saiyan, he becomes so powerful that Goku actually believes that Broly could be stronger than Beerus. The fact that Gogeta needs to use Super Saiyan Blue to actually defeat the legendary Super Saiyan Broly pretty much proves him right.

According to Saikyo Jump, Broly would be able to defeat Gogeta if he could gain control of the Legendary Super Saiyan's true form. The True Legendary Super Saiyan is the ultimate SSJ transformation that allows the user to fully control what should be uncontrollable power. Broly finally unlocks the True Legendary Super Saiyan while fighting the Gohan Beast Dragon Ball Super Chapter 103 which firmly gives him the power to destroy Goku.

Gohan Beast defeated Ultra Instinct Out of Goku

Technically, Gohan already destroyed Goku in the fighter. After the end of the manga adaptation Dragon Ball Super: Super Herothe story continues with several more chapters in the epilogue of the Super Hero saga. After defeating the Red Ribbon Army, Gohan heads to Beerus' Planet to battle Goku and demonstrate how powerful he has become. Gohan Beast starts fighting Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku at the end Dragon Ball Super Chapter 102, with most of the battle taking place in Chapter 103.

During their sparring match, Gohan Beast completely overpowers Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku. Not only is Gohan stronger, he's actually faster and can move fast enough to knock Goku out of Perfected Ultra Instinct. That in itself is a huge achievement. If their battle had gone full steam ahead, Gohan would have easily defeated Goku. Whis even believes that Gohan is strong enough to surpass Beerus as Universe 7's next destroyer.

Black Frieza is still stronger than Goku

Black Frieza is perhaps the most terrifying villain Dragon Ball franchise ever performed. At the end of the Granolah the Survivor saga, Frieza appears out of nowhere, kills Gas, and then utterly humiliates Goku and Vegeta by knocking them out of Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego, respectively, with a single punch. Never before had Goku been defeated so easily, especially when he used his strongest form.

The reason Goku and Vegeta train so hard Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is specifically so they can beat Black Frieza one day – but frankly, they're nowhere close. Black Frieza is currently the most powerful mortal in the multiverse, possessing a power that easily rivals that of the gods. In an all-out fight, Black Frieza would be able to kill Goku before he had a chance to react with Perfected Ultra Instinct.

Beerus is about to destroy Goku in their rematch

Beerus has already destroyed Goku once and is sure to destroy Goku again. Dragon Ball Super has been preparing for a rematch between Goku and Beerus for several years. It is almost guaranteed that the final battle in Dragon Ball Super will Goku and Vegeta VS. Beerus for the last time. Unfortunately for the Saiyans, they are about to face the toughest battle they will ever face.

Beerus is tremendously powerful on a good day, but he is also a master of destructive power and the only God of Destruction who can use Ultra Instinct. Beerus is the perfect counter to both Goku and Vegeta. If Goku ever defeats Beerus, it will be because he worked with Vegeta to win. In a solo fight, Goku is destined to lose against the most powerful god of destruction.

Goku will never surpass or defeat Whis

Whis is Goku's greatest teacher and one of the most powerful beings in the world. As an angel, Whis cannot fight mortals without risking erasure, but if he ever fought Goku, he could wipe him out completely. The problem is that Goku simply wouldn't be able to lay a finger on Whis. Whis is a master of Ultra Instinct, more so than any other character Dragon Ball Super.

Whis could only dance circles around Goku as he slowly exhausted himself, draining all the energy from Ultra Instinct. If Whis wanted to, a single blow would be enough to take Goku out. In the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, Whis blocks a powerful blow from Mora's strongest form and doesn't even break a sweat. He would break Goku in two if he could.
