The author of the solo leveling drops a big update on the future of the franchise

Solo leveling is quite easily one of the most talked about anime series of 2025 and its popularity is only growing every month. After incredible success Solo leveling Season 2, that is it's natural for fans the highly anticipated Solo Leveling Season 3. Most discussions in Solo leveling community is focused around Solo Leveling Season 3. While this is indeed something to look out for, there are other exciting things for fans to turn their attention to. Recently, the author of Solo Leveling, Chugong, was interviewed where he officially clarified the future Solo leveling franchise. As fans already know, Solo leveling the web novel has already ended. Even the Manhwa for the series ended quite a while ago.

Solo leveling even got a new line in the form Solo Leveling Ragnarokand the web novel for it ended earlier this year, while the Manhwa adaptation is still in progress. Now it was confirmed Chugong that there is a good chance for Solo Leveling will return with an official sequel in the future, but there is a catch.

Ragnarok is officially confirmed as another universe
The main sequel to Solo Leveling is yet to come

Most fans Solo Leveling considers Solo Leveling Ragnarok to be a sequel to the original story written by Chugong. However, as the author confirmed, Ragnarok is just a fan service. Chugong doesn't consider it worth it a true continuation of Solo Leveling.

That said, it's also not non-canon. According to Chugong, Solo Leveling Ragnarok is just a completely different universemeaning the universe in which fans have seen Jinwoo will have a different sequel in total.

The most important part of the interview was when Chugong officially confirmed that he might consider coming back with a new Solo Leveling sequel of his own. Here is what he had to say:

Ragnarok was a spin-off made for fan service. I was curious how another author would write Solo Leveling. This story is part of the Solo Leveling universe, but is not a direct continuation of the main plot. It's more like one of many possible scenarios – similar to Marvel's parallel universes. And of course I'm also considering the possibility of writing a sequel myself.

Right now, Solo Leveling is at the peak of its popularity after being blown up and fans are absolutely in love with characters like Sung Jinwoo. For Chugong, this is the perfect opportunity to make the most of this popularity and try his hand at the craft a new story so that Solo Leveling doesn't fade into nothingness. Chugong writing option the new continuation of Solo Leveling is real. If this were to happen, fans would most likely see Sung Jinwoo as the protagonist again, with familiar characters all around him who would also be central to the plot.

Solo Leveling has two seasons right now, one with 12 episodes and the other with 13, for a total of 25 episodes to watch right now.
