Final Fantasy Type-0 has its fair share of awesome boss fights that make the most of its real-time combat, but there's one boss that players fight that can't be defeated by traditional means on the first playthrough. Shinryu Celestia is a ridiculously powerful boss who wastes no time in smashing players with a few hits.
Class Zero may lose the battle against this enemy, but a savior arrives in the form of Bahamut ZERO. Players must cast Tera Flare with this eidolon to end the fight against Shinryu Celestia. In New Game+, Class Zero can legitimately attempt to beat this boss with her boosted stats, but it's still far from a straightforward battle and requires accurate reflexes and powerful attacks to win.

Final Fantasy IV begins on a strong note, with Cecil and Kain being tricked into killing the eidolon that was protecting the city of Mist and dropping bombs on the city. Their first offense leads to death Rydi's a mother who is outraged by the duo's actions and takes them on in a fight.
Most people assume she's just showing off and doesn't have much to talk about, only to summon a Titan and cause a landslide that separates her and Cecil from Kain. It's an incredible moment in the beginning Final Fantasy IV which demonstrates its narrative focus.

Final Fantasy 16'with the action-packed combat isn't that challenging as players can easily get through most of the game's encounters without too much trouble. However, there is one fight in the main story that shows how hard combat can be if allowed to really challenge the player.
Fighting Barnabas, alias. Odinafter he splits the ocean in two with his Zantetsuken, he's an incredible backdrop for the fight, but players soon find themselves in for a tough time when Clive can't stop him from using Iron Flash to end the battle. It's a scripted moment to showcase Barnabas' power, which is why the ensuing fight against Odin is such a blast. In this fight, players can take down this formidable enemy once and for all after a long and difficult battle that is probably harder than the final fight against Ultima.

Edea is a witch whose motivation v Final Fantasy 8 remain obscure the longest. The first battle against her is far from easy, and players who feel they have the upper hand on this character will be singing a different tune when the FMV begins where she impales Squall with an ice spike to end the battle.
The hero eventually recovers and the party discovers that Edea has been manipulated behind the scenes by Ultimecia. However, that doesn't take away from the brutal way in which he defeats Squall, leading to one of the most infamous video game fan theories of all time.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 is one of the greatest video game spinoffs ever created. The sheer amount of effort put into fleshing out Zack's adventures prior to the events of the main game is incredible, with the final fight driving a knife into players' hearts.
Realizing that Cloud is in no condition to move, Zack is forced to make a definitive stand against the Shinra Troopers who are chasing him. Try as he might, these soldiers are stubborn and keep shooting at Zack, with the battle eventually ending when his digital mind wave breaks down and he is unable to continue, leaving the world in one of the most emotional endings ever.
