The Complete Guide to the Goblin Storm Commander Deck in MTG

Not all of them Magic: The Gathering Commander Packs are available from vendors as there are a select few that you can only get through the Secret Lair. The latest deck to be offered through the limited press service is Goblin Storm, which brings a new spin to some of our favorite goblin commanders, including deck leaders Krenka, Mob Boss and Zada, Hedron Grinder.

This highly aggressive Goblin deck features art from Wizard of Barge, and if previous Secret Lair decks are anything to go by, it's going to go over the $150 MSRP very quickly.

The full Goblin Storm deck list is now available, and unsurprisingly, it's a Mono-Red build with only one goal in mind: a quick win!

The Goblin Storm Pack will be released via Secret Lair on May 18, 2026 for $149.99. This deck will not be reprinted and once it's gone, it's gone forever. These products are great to invest in, provided you can hold on to them for a while, as demand isn't always immediate once supplies run out.

Disintegration of the commander

There are two main commanders in this deck: Krenko, the Mob Boss, and Zada, the Hedron Grinder.

Krenko is probably the best known and most played of the two in various formats. He is a four-mana goblin warrior that can be tapped to spawn X 1/1 goblin tokenswhere X is the number of creatures you control. He's a very straightforward commander who's all about populating your battlefield.

As for Zada, he is a fantastic commander who is often underrated. Whenever you cast a spell that targets only Zadu, you can copy the spell for each other targetable creature you controland each copy must go to another of those creatures.

For example, if you target Zadu with Ancestors' Aid, he gets +2/0 and you create a treasure token. If you also controlled 5 more 1/1 goblin tokens each would also get +2/0 and you would create five more treasure tokens..

In all seriousness, this deck is designed to win games very quickly. However, he can also go deep into games on first impressions if needed, provided you avoid being the number one target at the table.

The term “swing wide” refers to fill your battlefield with creatures with low power and resistance so the damage is done in bulk rather than stacking all of your power into one or two creatures.

You can certainly temporarily boost some of your creatures into bigger threats with some of the spells in this deck, but you should treat each game like a speed run where you're trying to set a personal best. It's all about how quickly you can win the game and leave your opponent in shock.
