The most powerful alien races that have officially destroyed Earth

In the grand scheme of things Dragon Ball franchise, the ability to blow up entire planets is honestly not that impressive. Since the early days of the series, feats like destroying the moon were already well established, although it should be noted that only the most powerful characters were capable of this.

While this is still largely true today, with the greatest feats only available to the most powerful characters in the multiverse, there are quite a few races. Dragon Ball which are inherently very powerful – but only the absolute most powerful could destroy Earth.

The Namekians have been home to several warriors over the years

Notable members: Piccolo Jr., King Piccolo, Nail

Although there is only one Namekian who has ever reached the highest heights of power in the setting, as a race they are quite formidable. This is mostly because the Namekians are all very attuned to Ki and magical energy, which can also be seen with their true origins being from the mythical demon realm.

Even in the early days Dragon Ball ZPiccolo in his base form was enough to destroy the moon while training Gohan. The Namekians have only gotten stronger since then, and the general warrior population of Namek is still considered strong enough to destroy Earth if they ever had to.

Majins are demons that come from the Demon Realm

Notable Members: Majin Buu, Majin Kuu, Majin Duu

The Majin are some of the original inhabitants of the fabled Demon Realm and existed for eons before the beginning of the main Dragon Ball story. The most infamous member of this race is of course the legendary Majin Buu, who was originally one of the greatest threats facing the entire universe.

This villain in his original “Kid” Buu form was a maniacal and psychopathic monster who proved to be powerful enough to wipe out entire galaxies. Since then, other notable members have been introduced, such as Kuu and Duu, and although they are not as dangerous, their appearances in Dragon Ball Daima he definitely gave them enough power to destroy Earth. Finally, there's also Majin Rymus, who turns out to be the creator of the multiverse and arguably the most powerful character in the franchise.

Saiyans are the best warrior race

Notable members: Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Broly

The Saiyans are the main race of the franchise and central to the entire story. Always touted as the “ultimate warrior race”, the Saiyans possess the greatest latent power and potential to be found in the multiverse, allowing them to grow exponentially stronger simply by unleashing their emotions.

The main characters of the story have changed from simple warriors to heroes who can challenge the gods and control the most powerful divine techniques in the multiverse. Even in the early days of the franchise, the Saiyans, who don't measure up to the likes of King Vegeta or Bardock in modern times, easily destroyed several planets, making the Saiyans incredibly overpowered.

Frost demons have the most potential

Notable Members: Frieza, King Cold, Cooler (non-canon)

The greatest villain in history Dragon Ball franchise is none other than Frieza. His race, the Frost Demons, are the most powerful mortal race we know. The reason for this is their unmatched potential, which can grow in power even faster and more convincingly than the Saiyans.

However, it has never been made clear whether Frieza's potential is unique to him or just endemic to the entire race. Since the only other canon member of the race, King Cold, is dead, there's no way to know for sure. What is known is that Frieza, in his ultimate state, one-shots Ultra Instinct Goku and Ultra Ego Vegeta, which alone places him as the strongest mortal in the series.

Glindas are extremely powerful by nature

Notable members: King Kai, Shin, Zamasu

Although the Glinds, or Kai as they are more commonly known, are not considered by many to be warriors, the truth is that they have formidable power. In the Buu Saga, Shin revealed that each of the Kai was able to defeat Frieza with one attack, which definitely makes them planet-level warriors considering how Frieza was able to destroy Planet Vegeta in his first form.

As such, some Kai are still exceptionally trained to perfect their power, with King Kai, Supreme Kai, and most notably Zamasu coming to mind. In the case of the latter, his power grew to immense proportions, allowing him to fight Goku and Vegeta's Super Saiyan Blue forms, making them more than powerful enough to destroy the Earth.

Angels are the highest race in the Multiverse

Notable members: Whis, Vados, Grand Priest

Dragon Ball Super revealed the Gods of Destruction who are said to be the most powerful beings in the universe. However, the truth is that their guides, the Angels, are the most powerful beings of all, due to being in a permanent state of Ultra Instinct, the greatest martial arts technique in the multiverse.

This state makes them masters of technique and even serves as mentors to the Destroyer Gods due to their overwhelming strength. In fact, Whis was able to take out Beerus with a single hit at the end of the Beerus arc, which is quite a feat considering Beerus is the strongest destroyer and is leagues above Goku and Vegeta in their final states.

Dragon Ball can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
