First half of season 3 Re: Zero served as one of the strongest anime of the season, with the show raising the bar for Isekai anime. Throughout Re: Zeromany characters signed at the meeting. However, compared to fan favorites such as Subaru Natsuki, Emilia, and Rem, some characters are often overlooked. Despite that Re: Zero teeming with underappreciated characters that provide the anime with much in many ways.

8 Petra Leyte

A girl from the village of Arlam who becomes a maid at Roswaal Manor

Acting as the voice of Arlam Village, Petra Leyte is one of the more underrated members of Team Emilia. Starting out as an innocent girl who adores Subaru and his actions in protecting her home, Petra joins Roswaal Manor as a maid in hopes of helping Subaru on his journey.

Despite her lack of fighting skills, Petra proves to be a strong team player on Team Emilia, even when she is attacked by Elsa Granhiert at Roswaal Manor. Among Subaru's followers, Petra ranks among his most loyal and finds inspiration in the protagonist and his heroic deeds.

7 Al

A mysterious knight who provides humor when needed

Al, often known as Priscilla Barielle's loyal knight, has become a mysterious figure lurking in Re: Zero world. Despite Al being a lackey for Priscilla, Al gets along well with Subaru at their meetings and seems to have a common language with the main character.

When the comic character returns in Season 3, he proves his worth by joining a war party sent to deal with witch cult members terrorizing the town of Priestella. Although the character lacks the outright power of the other knights, Al remains a fascinating character who serves as a bright spot in Priscilla's entourage.

6 Petelgeuse Romanee-Conti

First meeting with Archbishop Subaru

On Subaru's journey, Petelgeuse Romanee-Conti was the main character in the first introduction to the witch cult, with Sin Archbishop causing Subaru considerable headaches. Initially a kind-hearted man who acted as a father figure to Emilia in her youth, now the crazy and possessed Sin Archbishop of Lenh is only trying to meet the Witch of Envy, with Subaru having an unknown connection to Satella.

While Subaru tries to save Emilia, a resident of Roswaal Manor and Arlam Village, Petelgeuse stops Subaru in his tracks, endlessly killing him and causing him much pain and suffering. As Subaru's first major nemesis, Petelgeuse proves to be an eccentric and ferocious villain, making the second half of Season 1 a thrilling spectacle.

5 Roswaal L. Mathers

A talented mage who plays both sides

Roswaal L. Mathers is the benefactor of Team Emilia and is often overlooked in camp compared to characters like Subaru and Rem. However, Roswaal was an integral part of the story during the first two seasons of the show.

Often playing both sides when supporting Emilia, Roswaal has ulterior motives that are revealed in season 2 when the powerful mage tries to reunite with his master Echidna. Proving to be one of Season 2's best antagonists, Roswaal's goals and ambitions provide an exciting showdown between the mage and Subaru, with the protagonists winning allowing both characters to grow.

4 Julius Juukulius

A stern knight who becomes a valuable ally to Subaru

As one of Subaru's main rivals, Julius Juukulius became the protagonist's valued friend and ally in many of his battles. Re: Zero. Julius and Subaru, often framed as an uptight knight who holds traditional values, are head butts during the royal selection. However, Julius has come to understand and relies on Subaru as a friend as he helps him fight against Petelgeus and later the witch cult in Priestella.

Working as Anastasia Hoshin's knight, Julius became one of Priestell's critical defenders and attacked the captured city hall with the help of Subaru and others to save the city.

3 Otto Suwen

Chief Strategist of Team Emilia

• Debut: Anime – Vol. 14 / Light Novel – Vol. 5

Otto Suwen may not be the strongest in combat. However, the former businessman undoubtedly made his mark on Emilia's team, helping Subaru and later becoming Emilia's strategist in her political endeavors. Otto, who initially aided Subaru in his efforts to save Roswaal Manor and Arlam Village, proves to be one of Subaru's most reliable friends, saving him from despair when Subaru confronts Roswaal at the Sanctuary.

Along with his role on Team Emilia, Otto's Divine Soul Tongue Protection makes him a useful resource as his ability to communicate with animals comes in handy, especially during the Sanctuary arc.

2 Felix Argyle

A playful healer who remains loyal to Crusch

One of Crusch Karsten's knights, Felix Argyle, is one of the many characters who provide plenty of comedic value. Re: Zero. Despite not having the strength of Crusch's other knight, Wilhelm van Astrea, Felix makes up for his lack of combat with his superior healing abilities, which he uses during the battle against the White Whale and when the witch cult attacked Priestella.

In addition to being a miraculous healing creature thanks to their Divine Protection of Water, Felix's relationship and chemistry with Crusch makes for a fun tandem where Felix's playful attitude blends with Crusch's traditional and serious personality.

1 Crusch Karsten

A strong AND heroic leader who is full of class

• Debut: Anime – Episode 12 / Light Novel – Volume 4

As the royal selection candidate for the throne of Lugunica, Crusch acts and looks the part of the strong leader who is the head of the Karsten family. Although perhaps not as popular as Emilia or Reinhard van Astrea, Crusch has shown many successes in Re: Zero.

From helping lead the attack on the White Whale alongside Subaru to helping in the effort to stop the witch cult in Priestella, Crusch led nobly and without any hesitation. Despite losing her memories of Lye Batenkaitos, Crusch continues forward with the same persistence as she strives for the better society she wishes to rule.
