The new Silent Hill game is getting an encouraging update

Silent Hill f was rated in South Korea, which could indicate that the horror game will be available soon. Not much was revealed Silent Hill Fand the game doesn't have an official release date, so it's somewhat surprising that it's rated in one region.

Silent Hill f was originally announced in 2022 during Konami's Silent Hill Transmission with a short trailer. Unlike previous games in the series, Silent Hill f will be set in 1960s Japan, not the United States. While the trailer didn't show any gameplay, it did introduce a bit of the setting, which appears to be a small Japanese town, along with the likely protagonist, a young girl being tormented by plant tendrils coming out of the walls. Since then, however, Konami has been mostly silent about the upcoming project.

Recent rumors claim that Silent Hill 3 and Silent Hill 1 will be getting remakes, but the latter should come before the former.

Now rated by the South Korean rating board Silent Hill f next to Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. Games are generally only rated when they are content-complete, which may indicate that the project will be released soon. However, this is surprising given how Silent Hill f it has received almost no marketing yet. However, what might strengthen the theory is that Bloodline 2 it was already planned for 2024 and then pushed back, meaning it's another game that may be almost ready for release.

It's hard to say what fans should expect Silent Hill F. By having a completely different setting, it could potentially be a very different entry in the franchise. The story of the game was written by Ryukishi07, a prominent visual novelist known for psychological horror stories such as Higurashi: When They Crywhich still hints that it may be focused on psychological aspects like the other entries in the series.

Microsoft will hold its Xbox Developer Direct showcase on January 23rd. One of the games rumored to appear there is a mystery game from a well-established Japanese IP, meaning it could be Silent Hill f. However, this is only speculation at the moment, as a number of other titles could also be involved.

In any case, it remains to be seen when Silent Hill f will be released. The Silent Hill 2 the remake was a big hit, selling over a million units in three days, but had quite a strong marketing presence. It would be unusual for this game to be released without Konami heavily marketing it prior to launch.
