Call of DutyThe film adaptation has its own writer, director and release date, ensuring that the film is no longer a rumor or a “what if” scenario. The script will premiere on June 30, 2028 and will be a summer blockbuster. Yellowstone created by Taylor Sheridan and directed by Pete Berg, best known for the disaster movie Deepwater Horizon. Not surprising, given the overall condition Call of Duty and the community's attitude towards the recordings of the last few years, there is concern that the team behind the film will not be able to create the right atmosphere. But me? I'm more worried about its potential success because it would allow what seems like a certain post-credits scene to become something more.
Since fans don't know anything about the project, it makes sense that they're more worried about the movie itself and not the bonus scene that may or may not be attached to its credits. Specifically, there is concern that Call of Duty the movie will Cod by name only, go the way of the original Resident Evil film saga and a focus on an all-new cast, with game characters limited to mere cameos. Similarly, many fear that those behind the film will not understand what they are working with, throwing Black Ops and Modern warfare heroes to the same team and they are wrong. Even more is divided over what subseries should be modified; some will surely be in favor of twist-filled Black Ops the story and characters like Frank Woods take center stage while others become more interesting Modern warfareCaptain Price and his war with Viktor Makarov enters the realm of live action. But as always I have thoughts on Call of Duty Zombies.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 shows the Totenreich zombies map
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Zombies reveals Totenreich map, showing potential return of massive boss fight and familiar location.
To be clear, I care Call of Duty's campaigns and their characters; I've platinumed the vast majority of games, so I've done practically all of them Cod campaign on Veteran difficulty, ensuring that I spent a lot of time with Task Force 141 and the Mason family. I like the first two the most Modern warsthe first two Black Ops games and A world at waralthough I have weak points Infinite Warfare and even unpopular Black Ops 3 campaign. However, Call of Duty Zombies is and always will be the most important part of the franchise for me. I could go on for hours about the regime, its Easter eggs and its wonderfully intricate tradition. I could point to my thousands of hours of gaming, expensive Ray Gun and Wunderwaffe replicas, or an old journal I kept of story theories and easter egg steps. Simply put, I adore it Cod Zombies and I fear a world where there is profit Call of Duty the movie leads to bad Cod Zombie movie.
Content creators once tried to create a Cod Zombie fan film titled 115but it never really worked out.
CoD Zombies cutscene with subtitles would repeat
Faithful Cod Zombie OGs will remember how this mode was introduced in 2008. After the credits roll Call of Duty: World at Warplayers would witness a cutscene where a horde of undead Nazis attacked, maintaining the dark tone of the base game but obviously having a different feel due to the supernatural element. Considering how seriously Call of Duty At the time, this scene and the accompanying survival mode that followed must have been a hard sell for Activision. So it was kept secret and served as a special campaign reward for those who completed the story. Like many others, I was instantly addicted to this mode, which the developers created just for fun, and the rapidly growing fan base allowed it to receive some DLC through each map pack. It would eventually become a proper mainstay of the franchise, especially when the Treyarch games come along.
WITH Cod Zombies introduced as a credits scene in a video game, it would make perfect sense for them to fill the same role in the film. It is highly unlikely that this is a film that is simply labeled Call of Duty will have crazy Zombies content and characters as it is more likely to be a safe military movie that will appeal to war movie fans as much as gamers. Yet with how passionately Cod Zombies fan base is, throwing them a bone as a post credits gag can be both a fun tribute and setup for a future project. If Call of Duty the film is the summer blockbuster that its makers hope, the cinematic universe is not out of the question. There could be a sequel exploring more select sub-series, other sub-series could get their own movie, and yes, very different Cod Zombies could get their own movie. This scenario makes me so nervous.
What exactly this predicted credits scene looks like is irrelevant. It could be Richtofen staring at the camera and saying wunderbar, pulled by Ash Williams Evil Dead franchise. The Monkey Bomb could jump up and down, the Group 935 logo could be zoomed in on, a sound clip of Sam's laughter could play, or the moviegoers could be shown the original film form of the Nazi zombies. Regardless of the team behind it Call of Duty the movie is going, I just know that I will leave the theater more nervous than excited. It's not necessarily because of that Cod Zombies is so rare to me that I never want it to be adapted, but because I just can't imagine doing it justice in a live action movie. At least not with the team involved.
Call of Duty fancasting
With a Call of Duty movie officially on the horizon, here's a list of dream fancasts featuring the franchise's most iconic characters and stories.
Why would a CoD Zombies scene be red flagged …if it's done wrong, I can't see a movie making Zombies any more popular than it is right now…
Call of Duty Zombies is special mainly because it is so unlike the rest of the franchise. Looking at the rest of the brand and its production, it really looks like it shouldn't exist. Magical wonder weapons, complex quests full of puzzles, multiple dimensions, serious boss fights, time travel, variants of the main cast with a completely different tradition – Zombies is a unique experience that feels inherently rebellious from the military-centric atmosphere of the IP. The Cod The Zombies rabbit hole goes deep, and for me and others, it's the only reason to keep buying the games, even if the other aspects have lost their appeal. It's more than just a side mode, and has been for over a decade. Understanding all the complexities Cod Zombies, from Primis and Ultimis to Apothicons to Aether, are a big challenge for anyone but the developers themselves.

I think there is a world where Berg and Sheridan, given their portfolio of work, hold their own Cod a film with “wow” moments comparable to MW2Cliffhanger mission. However, CoD Zombies is a completely different beast, and if someone like Craig Huston, Kevin Drew or the former Call of Duty Director Jason Blundell is heavily involved in the production, I just don't see it going well. Cod There really are zombies Cod in name only, with magic, mythology and monsters inspiring both the tone and a fan base that stands on its own. Sure, I've been rooting for movie stars like Christoph Waltz as Richtofen in my mind for years, but now that there's a real possibility Cod Zombie content appearing in live action, I'm preparing to cringe at the result.
I've seen a franchise I adore with an elusive tone completely messed up Border film as Cod With zombies being even weirder as a feature, I almost hope it doesn't end up as a post-credits scene in the movie. However, given the history and popularity of this mod, I have a good feeling it will happen. Still, if it's done wrong, I can't see the movie making Zombies any more popular than it is right now; instead, it would only confirm the common view of outsiders who assume Cod Zombies is a depthless survival arcade mode focused on dudebros. I hope I'm wrong about what the credits scene entails… although I really don't think I will be.
