Behavior Interactive has shared a big update on its upcoming film adaptation of Dead by Daylight, confirming that the script is complete and officially revealing the film's director.
During Dead by Daylight's tenth anniversary celebration in Montreal, Behavior VP Stephen Mulrooney joined producer Jason Blum on stage to discuss the long-awaited project. The studio announced that filmmaker Thordur Palsson will helm the adaptation.
The film takes a big step forward
Behavior also confirmed that the script has already been completed by Alexandre Aja and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. Thordur Palsson is best known for directing the Icelandic horror film The Damned. While Aja is known for directing horror films including The Hills Have Eyes, Crawl and High Tension, Johnson-McGoldrick has credits such as The Conjuring 2, Aquaman and Orphan.
The update marks the film's most significant advancement since it was first announced. While no release date was given, Behaviour's confirmation of a finished script and director suggests the project is moving into the next phase of development.
The announcement was part of a larger showcase celebrating Dead by Daylight's tenth anniversary, where Behavior outlined plans for new chapters, game modes and collaborations across the franchise.
I'm definitely looking forward to the movie. With huge successes for Obsession and Backrooms over the past month, horror is having a moment and I'm here for it.
