Tomb Raider fans can't believe how bad the remastered Lara Croft Collector's Edition looks

The Tomb Raider franchise has been dormant for quite some time. Aside from an Amazon show starring Sophie Turner, which has been in the works since forever, it doesn't look like we'll be seeing Lara Croft anytime soon. Maybe that's why so many fans wanted to get the 1-3 remastered Limited Run Collector's Edition.

This massive physical edition will offer you steelbooks for each of the first three games, replicas of Lara's iconic pistols, a soundtrack collection, a map book, several posters and trading cards, and figurines of Lara's classic polygonal avatars from the first three games. Unfortunately, the characters look pretty cursed.

The remastered Tomb Raider Collector's Edition figures look terrible

It is obvious what the manufacturer was going for – a return to the time when Lara was polygonal, as in the first three games. Unfortunately, it seems that this look didn't quite translate well in action figure form. The facial features look extremely weird, with some fans on Twitter referring to them as “Temu Raider” (thanks to VideoGamer). Others have called out the Limited Run, saying the numbers don't look like promotional content.

The problem isn't just the repulsive faces, but the characters themselves don't look well done. Fans have pointed out that the joints look extremely weak and have a terrible finish. What were supposed to be figurines that exactly matched Lara's in-game avatar looked like some sort of terrifying versions of the beloved character.

A close-up of the ankle of one of the characters shows a joint that could come undone almost instantly. The figures also look like they are made of paper mache.

Those who purchased the collector's edition not only had to shell out $199, but had to wait over a year to receive it. Imagine the shock when they learned that they had spent their money and waited so long to be greeted by this cursed version of Lara. There doesn't seem to be anything that can be done about it now as the packages are already being shipped. Perhaps the creators would have gone back to the drawing board if the final versions of the figures had been revealed earlier.
