While Arthur Morgan has shown on several occasions that he has heart Red Dead Redemption 2he is still an outlaw. This means that when you play, you are also an outlaw because you are the one controlling it. So chances are you'll be robbing people and stealing things a lot during your adventure.

Since Red Dead Redemption 2 is a fairly realistic game, you can't just sell these stolen goods to any general store you find. You have to go to specific places to meet people who won't let the law get in their way. This type of store is called a fence, and you can find them all here in the game.
Fences only become available after you leave the snowy area of the first chapter.
Rhodes fence
As part of the main story, you will visit Rhodes. It is west of Saint-Denis and north of Braithwaite Manor. The fence in this area is not in the center of the city. You can find it instead just outside the city to the north. The site is located in a small area that contains a few people and a few animals.
The fence is inside the little red hut. However, you cannot go through the front door of the building. you have to go around the back find the fence using stable doors (aka dutch doors) to deal with your customers.
The fence of Saint-Denis You will visit the location during the Help and Brother Out mission.
The city of Saint-Denis occupies a large part of the southeastern part of the map. Once you are in the city, you can find by the fence on its eastern side.
The place is in the market area. You may have to walk past some stalls to get to the building. There is some writing on the wall near the entrance that says “Pawnbroker”. Go through green door near these words enter the store.
Van Horn Trading Post fence
Van Horn Trading Post is a small town on the east side of the map. There are some in town docks. At the end of the longest one you will find a fence.
Building has the words “Van Horn Trading Post” on the side. of which in white letters with a red background.
Emerald Ranch car fence This fence will be available after completing The Spines of America.
Hosea will introduce you to the Emerald Ranch fence as part of The Spines of America mission. Emerald Ranch is in the Heartlandsbetween Van Horn Trading Post and Valentine.
The the fence is located in the southernmost part of the ranch. It is attached to a large barn because it is car fencewhich means you can deliver stolen cars here. You can they still sell common stolen items To Seamus, who is seated outside the barn.
Clemens Point Horse Fence This fence will be available after completing Horse Flesh for Dinner.
There is only a fence north of Clemens Point which deals with horses. It's in the Scarlet Meadows area northwest of Rhodes.
You'll find a few buildings on site that don't look so good. You can follow them find two guys. These are the people who manage the fence. You can only sell horses to these guys. They don't do any other business.
The map icon for this horse fence will only appear when you are on a horse.
