Abyssal Horrors appear underwater on almost any planetregardless of its type. They look like giant stationary worms with an eye in the middle and they can spawn alone or next to sunken buildings.

Go to the nearest planet with a lot of water (usually lush and tropical planets). The best way is to fly to an area with an ocean. There are always a few small islands that you can land on and start looking for the Abyssal Horror. You can spot the Abyssal Horror using the analytical visor as it will have a red hazard icon above it.

While Abyssal Horrors can appear anywhere, finding and dealing with them can be a pain. Here are some tips to make your search easier:

  • Install the underwater oxygen upgrade: Underwater oxygen upgrades for your Exosuit significantly increase the amount of time you can stay underwater. Since you may have to swim longer distances to get to the Abyssal Horror and back, install at least one S-class underwater oxygen upgrade.
  • Look for the yellow glow at night: If you fly over water at night, you can spot the Abyssal Horror by its glowing yellow eye.
  • Install the Aqua-Jets Upgrade on your starship: Aqua-Jets allow you to land a starship on water. With them, you don't have to look for a landing spot when you find an Abyssal Horror.
  • Use Nautilon: Nautilon is an underwater Exocraft with which you can calmly explore the depths. You can also install a high-powered sonar on the Exocraft to find points of interest.
