Star Wars Battlefront 2 is EA's latest title to be given away throughout the month of December, but the offer is only available until December 20th, meaning fans looking to add the 2017 title to their library will need to act fast.
After sitting idle for many years, EA has rebooted Battlefront Star Wars franchise in 2015, followed by a sequel in 2017. Both titles received mixed reviews at launch, but Battlefront 2 currently has a “very positive” rating on Steam with over 50,000 user reviews. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the recently released Aspyr Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collectionwhich has a “mostly negative” rating on Steam due to the increased price, small number of servers at launch, and countless bugs.

As part of the ongoing EA Holidays, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and EA Play members can grab a copy Star Wars Battlefront 2: Celebration Edition at no additional charge until December 20 through the Xbox Store. Unlike the standard edition of the game, the Celebration Edition features more than 25 hero appearances, 125 trooper and reinforcement appearances, 100 hero and trooper emotes and voice lines, and 70 hero and trooper victory poses. It's not the first time Star Wars Battlefront 2: Celebration Edition was given away for free as Epic Games users were able to pick up the game for free for a limited time back in 2021, but now Xbox users can pick up the popular sequel as well.

While not all the titles and DLC being given away have been revealed, the studio has mentioned Battlefield 1: Revolution, The Sims 4 Home Chef Hustle Stuff Pack, Titanfall 2: Ultimate Edition, and 500 PGA Tour points EA Sports PGA Tour.
