Xbox currently has major technical issues that prevent users from fully utilizing the platform. The problems started at about 10:30 a.m. CST on Wednesday, October 29. It's unclear if this affects every single Xbox user or if it's more of a regional issue, but it's clear that thousands are currently affected.
From personal experience, while Xbox multiplayer works for me, I can't get into the store or Xbox Game Pass. Game updates also don't seem to download, but I can access my friends list. Mileage may vary. Xbox Support has not acknowledged these issues at the time of writing.
Almost 2,000 people have reported Xbox problems on Down Detector. The number of reports continues to increase with each page refresh, so it is clear that the issue has not been resolved at the time of writing.
