10 PlayStation and PC games will be discontinued on June 1st

Likely due to its position in the calendar year, June 1st has been designated as a massive cut-off date for 10 games across PlayStation and PCs, including one that has been around for a decade. In some cases, this means that the games are no longer playable at all, which is something no one wants – even if that particular game isn't your cup of tea. In other cases, the game will still be playable without any online support, but a shutdown like this (which happens with LEGO 2K Drive) are increasingly rare.

It's worth noting that the Stop Killing Games Movement was founded for this very reason, as game preservation should be a key part of game development and the industry. It's not a simple problem, but the challenges are as real in life as they are in video games. On the one hand, it makes sense that servers can't support games forever because of the cost and maintenance required to maintain them; on the other hand, anyone who wants to start Anthem and they should be able to fly around – but they can't. It's tricky, as are each of the shutdowns below, but PlayStation and PC fans should keep an eye out for time running out.

Developer Gisp Mighty wars is a free-to-play turn-based strategy game that was once available for mobile before it was taken down, and unfortunately its fate on Steam is pretty much the same. The game's Steam page has already been taken down and online services (if any) will be shut down on June 1st. Gisp acknowledged that it could be a bit sooner, as only “a few users” were playing the game when the initial announcement was made, but regardless, once those online services are shut down, it's curtains for good.

star conflict

June 1st marks the end of monetization, the end of new content, and the end of “reasons” to play the game. Star conflict promised to keep servers open for all existing players until October 10th, but June 1st marks the beginning of its end.
