MMORPG Pax Dei is now available at Xbox Game Pass. This is the 55th title to hit the subscription service in October 2025, as well as the 177th Xbox Game Pass release since the start of the year.
Pax Dei—which translates to “God's peace” in Latin—is an open-world MMORPG developed by Mainframe Industries, a Helsinki-based studio staffed by Blizzard, Ubisoft, and Remedy veterans. Described as a social sandbox, it emphasizes community building and immersion. Players can claim any unoccupied land as their own, and if that land happens to be near another land, the two will connect. When enough neighbors join together, their lands will turn into a village, then a city, and finally a massive fortress. The game's open world has no NPC settlements, further underscoring its community focus. Pax Dei launched as an Early Access title in June 2024.
Pax Dei 1.0 is coming to Xbox Game Pass
Version 1.0 of the social MMO is officially available starting today, October 16th, after launching at 11am ET. Pax Dei can be played through Steam, Microsoft Store and Xbox Game Pass. While Microsoft's subscription service often treats 1.0 releases as day-one titles and reserves them for PC and Ultimate tier subscribers, that's not the case this time. Pax Dei it is also possible to play through the recently launched Xbox Game Pass Premium membership, which now exists in place of the standard XGP. The full release was preceded by a server wipe, meaning everyone starts from scratch. Some new gameplay mechanics and balancing tweaks were introduced as part of build 1.0, as noted in the official patch notes.
Pax Dei can be streamed, but not through Xbox Game Pass
Unlike most Xbox Game Pass titles, Pax Dei does not come with Xbox Cloud Gaming support. This is despite the fact that it can be streamed through other cloud services, including GeForce Now, Shadow, Boosteroid and AirGPU. The discrepancy is likely due to two factors: Pax Dei is exclusive to PC and the Xbox Cloud Gaming infrastructure is built entirely on modified Series X consoles.
Six more titles are currently confirmed to be coming to Xbox Game Pass by the end of October 2025. Double Fine's Keeper will start on October 17, subsequently Ninja Gaiden 4 and Bad West four days later. Bounty Star and PowerWash 2 simulator then arrives on October 23rd with Outer worlds 2 completes this month's confirmed lineup on October 29.

As the Wave 2 roster for October 2025 is still not officially announced, some as-yet-unrevealed titles may be added to the service in the coming weeks. Still, the Xbox Game Pass releases already confirmed for the second half of the month are relatively evenly spaced, so surprise may be sparse.
