Vanilla is one of the few ice type v pokemon Pokemon Legends ZA Pokedex and surprisingly it has had a decent movepool overhaul, making it quite viable for PvE and PvP battles as long as players know how to catch and train it.
Learn all about Vanillite, where to find it, and how to evolve it to Vanillish and Vanilluxe in Pokemon Legends ZA, along with a thorough analysis of its stats, moveset, and recommended EV training.
Where to find Vanillite in Pokemon Legends ZA
Vanillite is a pure Ice-type Pokémon that appears in
Savage Zone 7 and
Savage Zone 12. It is a daytime pokemon, so if players want to catch it, they should look for it during the day.
Once caught, trainers should know that training it won't be easy, as its low HP turns this Pokémon into a sort of glass cannon (despite its high Sp. Atk). But her evolution to Vanilish and Vanilluxe should increase her stats significantly.
How to Evolve Vanillite into Vanilish & Vanilluxe in Pokemon Legends ZA
Vanillite evolves into Vanilish when it reaches level 35 and then into Vanillux when it reaches level 47. This can be a bit confusing for trainers as there are several Pokemon that evolve at this level.
-
In order to evolve Vanillite, players must open the menu by pressing X.
-
Then they should have Vanillite in the miniatures menu select “Evolve”.
-
When the animation ends, Vanillite should evolve into Vanillish.
-
The same process can be repeated once Vanillish reaches level 47.
Movements like Ice wind and Blizzard (targeted AoE) have been extensively revised and are practically useless in terms of combat effectiveness. There are new metas fixed AoE moves or Physical low cooldown movesor close movements such as Brave Bird, Extreme Speed.
Vanilluxe is also a pure Ice-type Pokemon with a BST (Base Stat Total) of 535, which is not as high as other Ice-type Pokemon like Glalie or Froslas. Unfortunately, Vanilluxe isn't mega-evolving, but his moveset is still something to look out for if trainers are interested in dealing serious STAB damage.
The best temperaments for Vanilluxe in Pokemon Legends ZA are Loose (+Def – Speed) or Bold (`Def – Attack). Vanilluxe doesn't need Atk, so consider going Bold as speed is still somewhat important even with the new combat system. For EV Spreaduse the following: 252 HP/252 Sp. Atk/ 6 Speed or 252 HP/252 Def/6 Sp. Att.
His ideal range of motion includes: Ice Beam (good range, STAB, decent cooldown and ex. time), Fog (protects Vanillux from stat-reducing moves), Acid armor (strengthens defense and helps deal with physical attackers), Lyophilization (absolutely broken ice-type AoE move with an extremely high chance to cause Frozen, plus it's super effective against water-types).
If you want to use Vanillux in the main story, players should know that the biggest threat to this Pokemon is from close range attackers (eg.
Lucario), so use Mist followed by Acid Armor to cover Vanillite and help him use his Ice Beam move.
When an enemy Pokémon gets close, use Freeze-Dry, which acts a lot like Earthquake, unleashing an AoE surrounding Vanillux and knocking back melee attackers.
