Xbox Player Voice gave gamers the opportunity to tell the company exactly what they wanted from its consoles and games, and it didn't take long for a consensus to emerge. While one of the biggest wishes of Xbox fans is a return to exclusivity, there are a few other things that can be gained from the main requests.
On May 18, Xbox introduced Xbox Player Voice, which allowed players to directly offer feedback to the company. Although Xbox noted that not every popular request will necessarily result in a new feature, players will be able to see when their feedback has been reviewed by the team and will receive updates if any changes or additions are made in response to the feedback.

Xbox Game Pass officially confirms 8 more games for May 2026
Microsoft has officially announced the Xbox Game Pass Wave 2 lineup for May 2026, while also confirming two more titles to arrive in June.
Xbox Player Voice quickly reveals fan requests
It only took a day for some clear patterns to emerge on the Xbox Player voice feedback forum, with the clear main demand being to bring Xbox exclusives back. A gamer named Carlos Hernandez shared a request to bring them back, claiming that Xbox doesn't sell enough consoles because there's no reason to buy them when games can be bought and played on competing systems. Within a day, this request received almost 10,000 upvotes and more than a thousand comments.

Another most voted and commented piece of feedback is that Xbox is once again focusing on backwards compatibility, making it easy to play older games on the Xbox Series X/S. This request has already received more than 7,000 upvotes. Other popular suggestions include free access to online multiplayer instead of an Xbox Game Pass subscription, as well as an Achievements department for base games and their DLC, and the introduction of a family version of Xbox Game Pass for households that own multiple Xbox consoles.
Some player requests will become less likely than others, as Xbox is unlikely to make any changes that could negatively impact its revenue from services like Game Pass. However, when it comes to Xbox exclusives, the topic is something that Xbox itself is exploring, at least according to renowned insider Jez Corden. As Xbox evaluates its overall business, a return to exclusivity may be something the company decides to do to sell more consoles. Getting this request to the top of the list on the Xbox Player Voice forum can help move Xbox further in that direction.

At one time, console exclusives were the norm, and many games never left the console family they were released on. However, ports became more common over the years, and developers and publishers took advantage of the opportunity to make more money from existing products. More recently, exclusives have been much more rare, with most only remaining on one console for a set amount of time before being released on other systems, and even then, it was fairly rare. However, it looks like the industry may end up reversing this trend, but a recent report suggests that PlayStation will no longer be porting its single-player narrative games to PC.
