in Mirthwood, any craft machine will use the contents of nearby chests. The the range is quite smallso it won't work if your chest is a few tables away. But if you can spread out the chests around your crafting machine, you can have a large amount of supplies ready to go.

Maps are updated during exploration

At the beginning of the game, you won't know where everything is. A map won't help you until you start exploring places on your own. Places like campsites and cities will be only discover on the map after you have discovered them first.

Task markers are displayed on the map. Make sure your assignment is set as Active by opening the journal. Go to the map and delay as far as possible. Look for the yellow circle on the map.

Tasks appear as a yellow dot on the map. The yellow spot is general area in which you will find what you need to continue your active search. It will never show the exact location of something.

How to travel fast

Fast Travel is possible in the game, but it is limited. You can only Fast Travel to resting places like your farm and campsites. Empty campsites can be found on the map and contain all of them bed and desk.
