The Fall 2025 anime season is underway, and the 40+ shows are spread across a plethora of streaming services, making it frustrating to know which series to watch. If you want quantity, you should just go with Crunchyroll, as it offers the most bang for your buck; however, that is not very helpful. Sure, you know you can watch roughly 30 series, but which ones fit your needs, desires, and preferences? If you want just a full breakdown of each Fall 2025 anime’s streaming service, just click below:
Therefore, we are going to try something a bit different by putting together recommendation brackets based on themes and genres. If you are not sure where to start, just pick one of these popular categories and work your way through the listed anime. Which Fall 2025 anime should you watch?
A few notes and criteria:
- We have included the day when the anime airs in North America, along with its start date. Things vary from region to region.
- For now, we are focusing on action, fantasy/isekai, romance, and comedy. If this proves helpful, we can expand to include more genres.
- Almost none of these shows have started. Some might be terrible. Let’s find out together.
- Just to be crystal clear, this article does not rank the best Fall 2025 anime, but rather provides a rundown to help people get started on what they should watch.

My Hero Academia: The Final Season will be debuting on Crunchyroll and Hulu on October 4. At this point, there really isn’t anything left to be said about the show. If you are still along for the ride at this point, finish Deku’s journey.

Science Saru’s adaptation of Paru Itagaki’s very strange action anime, Sanda, launched on Prime Video on October 4. Now, this exclusivity already limits the show’s scope, and the fact that it seems to feature a supernatural Santa Claus probably doesn’t help (or it does, who knows?). The trailers demonstrated creative animation and kinetic energy, so this might be a good substitute for something like Dnadadan. Just don’t expect much romance.
Ninja vs. Gokudo
Look, sometimes a premise does not need to be complicated. Ninjas and yakuza engaging in a never-ending war to the death? A Romeo & Juliet-style bromance develops between the two sides? Over-the-top chaos ensues. Honestly, Ninja vs. Gokudo should be the Akiba Maid War of Fall 2025.

One-Punch Man has, unfortunately, struggled to build momentum leading to its third season. In fact, J.C.Staff has barely released any footage for the pending season, and the production team has tried to keep expectations grounded. Season 1 is generally regarded as the pinnacle of the action anime genre, delivering movie-quality animation alongside smart character development and some genuinely laugh-out-loud moments. Season 2 was a notable step back, so much so that the decline overshadowed what was, honestly, a decent enough continuation. Hopefully, OPM Season 3 is a step in the right direction.
Star Wars: Visions Volume 3
Star Wars: Visions is an anthology series that tells short anime-based tales set in Disney and George Lucas’s legendary university. As with all anthology shows, Visions does not have a 100% batting average so far, but it has legendary top-quality animation while telling stories that are unlikely to be touched upon by the movies or live-action shows. Studio Trigger (Kill la Kill), David Production (JoJo), WIT Studio (Attack on Titan), and Kinema Citrus (Made in Abyss) all have episodes.
Fall 2025’s Best Romance Anime Catalog
A Star Brighter Than the Sun
Fall 2025 has a huge act to follow since Summer 2025 was absolutely stuffed with top-notch romances. On paper, no show seems likely to compare to The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity or My Dress-Up Darling. However, A Star Brighter Than the Sun should be a good place to start if you are just craving a cute love story about a shy girl and a popular guy who gradually come together. Life does not need to be complicated, and this Fall 2025 anime should be sweet.
Plus-sized Misadventures in Love!
Now, here is something a bit different. When it comes to body types, anime rarely deviates, and that can honestly be said for fiction in general. Therefore, it is refreshing when a story shows up that tries to be something different. Plus-sized Misadventures in Love! is all about Yumeko, a girl who begins to love herself and how her attitude influences those around her.
Dusk Beyond the End of the World
While somewhat of an unknown quantity since only two episodes are available, Dusk Beyond the End of the World is a sci-fi romance epic about starting fresh in a seemingly post-apocalyptic world. Akira wakes up in a timeline he barely comprehends, but he recognizes one face: Yuugure. A woman who looks almost exactly like his ex-girlfriend. Mystery, love, adventure, Dusk Beyond the End of the World is one of Fall 2025’s most intriguing anime.
With You, Our Love Will Make It Through
Who doesn’t love some interspecies romance? With You, Our Love Will Make It Through follows Mari, a young girl who is a bit afraid of beastfolk’s integration into her school. However, she gradually grows closer to Tsunagu, learning that there is absolutely nothing to fear and that they share some things in common.
This Monster Wants to Eat Me
OK, “romance” might not be the ideal genre for This Monster Wants to Eat Me, but the Girls Love anime just has to be highlighted at some point or another. Hinako has a death wish, and she seems to find her perfect in Shiori, a mermaid who really wants to eat her. However, the latter wants to wait until Hinako is at her peak ripeness, so she decides to protect her from other monsters that want to feast on her. A charming romance all about girls fighting to the death to eat each other.
Fall 2025’s Best Fantasy & Isekai Anime Catalog
To Your Eternity Season 3
To Your Eternity has the odd distinction of peaking with its opening episode. This 20-minute masterpiece could and maybe should have been a short film, and the anime has never really come close to reaching those highs. That said, seasons 1 and 2 are still, for the most part, ambitious and emotional fantasy epics about the unique challenges of an immortal being. Season 3 sees Fushi enter the present day.
A Wild Last Boss Appeared!
Look, I’m not going to pretend A Wild Last Boss Appeared! is anything other than it is. This is an OP MC isekai anime. If you enjoy those types of series and prefer when they have a slightly evil twist, this series should be perfect for you. The opening episode was predictable but fun, and it showcased the protagonist’s vicious nature as she slaughtered a small army of monsters.
Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill Season 2
Yes! Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill is back for another (hopefully) great season. A slow-life anime about an ordinary guy with a frying pan and two familiars who are willing to help out for a good meal, Camping Cooking is just wholesome fluff in the best possible way. Maybe season 2 will ramp up the stakes, but it is really not necessary.
The Fated Magical Princess: Who Made Me a Princess
Anime based on manhwa are still not extremely common, but they are gradually becoming more commonplace. The Fated Magical Princess: Who Made Me a Princess is a relatively big deal, and the novel and manhwa are both highly regarded. Athanasia reincarnates as the hated princess of a king, and she has to go through life trying to win his heart.
May I Ask for One Final Thing?
Time for a good revenge story, and this one does not involve time travel or reincarnation. Scarlet is framed as a villainess by her fiancé, so she punches him in the face and sets out on a plan to ruin him in his entirety. The first episode was great, so this should be a fun ride.
Fall 2025’s Best Comedy Anime Catalog
Gintama – Mr. Ginpachi’s Zany Class
Monday On Crunchyroll (October 6)
- Release Date
-
October 7, 2025
- Network
-
TV Tokyo
- Directors
-
Makoto Moriwaki
-

-
Daisuke Sakaguchi
Shinpachi Shimura (voice)
-
Rie Kugimiya
Kagura (voice)
-
Satsuki Yukino
Tae Shimura (voice)
Gintama is back, albeit in a slightly different form than its traditional sci-fi epic. Rather than a lazy samurai trying to make ends meet in Edo, Ginpachi is a teacher at perhaps the most chaotic school in Japan. Hilarity must ensue.
Spy x Family Season 3
Saturday On Crunchyroll & Hulu (October 4)
- Release Date
-
2022 – 2023-00-00
- Network
-
TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TVh, TVQ, TSC
- Directors
-
Kenji Takahashi, Takahiro Harada, Takashi Katagiri, Kazuki Horiguchi, Tsuyoshi Tobita, Yoshiki Kitai, Shu Honma, Kento Matsui, Tazumi Mukaiyama, Shougo Ono

-
Daishiro Tanimura, Rino Yamazaki, Honoka Katou, Ayumu Hisao
-
Takuya Eguchi
Loid Forger (voice)
-
Atsumi Tanezaki
Anya Forger (voice)
At this point, Spy x Family has become a modern anime staple, and the Fall 2025 season should be fantastic and hilarious. While there will likely be some advancement to the espionage plot, the focus will almost certainly be on Anya’s hijinks as she tries to make her unorthodox family life work.
Ranma ½ Season 2
Saturday On Netflix (October 4)
- Release Date
-
October 6, 2024
- Network
-
Nippon TV, RNB, YBS, RAB, TVI, YBC
- Directors
-
Yoji Sato, Nobuyoshi Arai, Yasuhiro Geshi, Taro Kubo, Tomoko Hiramuki
- Writers
-
Erika Ando
-
Kappei Yamaguchi
Ranma Saotome (voice)
-
Megumi Hayashibara
Ranma (voice)
An all-time classic is back for its second season, and Ranma ½ could be the funnest Fall 2025 anime, if done right. The source material is nothing short of fantastic, and season 1 balanced humor, action, and romance incredibly well.
Let This Grieving Soul Retire Cour 2
OK, this might fall under the “fantasy” sphere, but I feel comedy fans are more likely to get something out of Let This Grieving Soul Retire. What if the most OP character ever is just kind of faking it? That’s Krai, and he just cannot seem to convince his friends to leave him alone so he can retire. Season 1 was consistently pretty funny.
My Friend’s Little Sister Has It In for Me!
My Friend’s Little Sister Has It In for Me walks the line between romance, comedy, and slice of life, so we ended up including it here. Blade’s adaptation is actually among the most highly anticipated series of the season, and part of that might have to do with the provocative title. Still, the light novel is quite well-liked, and essentially revolves around a love triangle between Akiteru, Iroha (the sister), and Mashiro. That oversimplifies the story, though.
