A well-known Xbox Game Studios insider has provided an update The Elder Scrolls 6 and Bethesdathey talked for a long time Fallout remasters. The new claims suggest TES 6 could arrive between the two Fallout remasters, though its release now appears to be further along than some Bethesda fans may have expected.
June 11, 2026 the only trailer for the sixth main series The Elder Scrolls the game will be eight years old. Although Bethesda says the project is progressing well, some vocal fans are growing frustrated with the lack of substantial TES 6 update. This situation largely stems from the fact that the game was announced roughly half a decade before it entered active production in 2023, after Star fieldedition. Meanwhile, Bethesda has long been rumored to be pursuing remasters Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegasbased on a combination of leaks and insider reports. However, upgraded versions of the two post-apocalyptic open-world RPGs have yet to be officially announced.
Bethesda's first Fallout Remake/Remaster may come in 2027
Microsoft insider Jez Corden provided an update on all of these projects in the latest episode of The Xbox Two Podcast. “I don't know how true that is, but I heard one thing that it is Fallout remasters are probably a little further away than people think,” Corden said around 02:02:13 of the episode on May 22. He later clarified that he expects neither. Fallout remasters to hit the market before 2027, when he expects to see one of them. With regard to the leaked internal product plan, he pointed to the existence of a Fallout 3 remaster only in 2023, which seems a more likely candidate for a 2027 release, while the upgraded version New Vegas may arrive later.
Discussion on next The Elder Scrolls game in the same episode, Corden said the project was still “pretty far” from completion. Elaborating on this claim, he estimated that the long-awaited open-world RPG would most likely be released one or two years after the first Fallout remaster, i.e. 2028 or 2029. The claim is consistent with recent comments from Bethesda, including a March 2026 interview in which executive producer Todd Howard asked fans to pretend TES 6 was not announced, indicating that the game was still not ready for launch at the time. Corden's estimate is also roughly in line with current AAA development cycles, which now routinely stretch to around five years. for reference TES 6 reportedly entering full production in late 2023.
Bethesda's potential RPG release schedule for the rest of the decade

2027: Fallout 3 Remastered

2028–2029: The Elder Scrolls 6

2029–2030: Fallout: New Vegas Remastered
Corden didn't present his launch window estimates as leaks, but as educated guesses based on what he learned about Bethesda's current projects. The two Fallout remasters are believed to be handled externally, possibly by developer Virtuos from Oblivion Remastered, based on previous reports. If Corden's broad guesses turn out to be correct, a revamped Fallout: New Vegas release might not arrive until the next decade.

2030 edition for Fallout: New Vegas a remaster would make sense if Bethesda wanted to align it with the game's 20th anniversary. However, the company with similar projects was not particularly sentimental about the timing of the anniversary, as Oblivion Remastered was dropped shortly after the 19th anniversary of the original game. Corden also predicts that Fallout 3 the remaster arrives roughly 19 years after the original RPG. If this pattern holds, the apparent two-year cadence of the remaster would point to an upgraded version New Vegas arriving in 2029 rather than 2030.
