Key things
- Bloodborne is officially undergoing maintenance on December 3rd, the same date as the rumored PlayStation event.
- PlayStation fans believe the date (which also happens to be the platform's 30th anniversary) was hidden in a new ad that came out earlier this week.
- Bloodborne fans are crossing their fingers now, it could be the remaster or 60fps update they've been craving, although we won't know for sure until the day comes.
PlayStation fans have been a little nervous for the past few weeks, ever since a new ad was uploaded to the platform's official YouTube channel. In this ad, a flight board is very briefly seen with the date December 3rd, which happens to be the 30th anniversary of the PlayStation as a whole. Many fans took this as a tease for an event or PlayStation Showcase that will take place next month.
Insiders argue whether an event could happen, point to things like The Game Awards deeper into December this year, and reliable figures like billbil-kun claim that things are “in the works” behind the scenes. There's a lot of uncertainty swirling around at the moment, although one thing is certain, Bloodborne will go down for maintenance on the exact same day.
Bloodborne will undergo maintenance on the alleged PlayStation launch date
It was recently discovered by Bloodborne fans (and shared by the FromSoftUpdates twitter account) that the game's servers will undergo maintenance on December 3rd. It's worth noting that FromSoftware games randomly going through maintenance isn't unheard of, but having to line up perfectly on the same day that PlayStation might be teasing is too much of a coincidence.

A lot of people are already taking this as proof that we might finally get our remaster or remake announcement during this mysterious event, although we have absolutely no idea if that's the case. It's also possible that this could be FromSoftware gearing up for some PS5 Pro tweaks, and it might be absolutely nothing, and Bloodborne fans will want to curl up in the corner of the room and cry.
However this mystery maintenance ends up, I'm sure we're all crossing our fingers that Bloodborne fans finally get some good news. The one-two punch of Horizon Zero Dawn getting remastered and rumors of a Dark Souls 3 remaster in the works may have broken some fans without any help. Right now we have to stay calm and pray.
