How to Build a Ship Defense Deck in Clash Royale
Unlike traditional boards in Clash Royalethe Boat Defense deck consists of three smaller deckseach containing four cards apiece. To build a ship defense deck, go to the Clan Wars section on training day and click on your clan ship. Then click on any of the empty slots to create a ship defense deck.
You can just have one active ship defense deck suddenly.
Boat Defense is an automatic game mode where you cannot directly control the units in your deck. The princess turrets are replaced by three turret turrets that fire fast projectiles at enemy units. These tower towers will create cards depending on which lane your opponent is pushing. For example, if the opponent is pushing the right turret, units will automatically spawn from the turret on your right.
The attacking party will have a weaker King Tower with much lower health. If the defending party manages to destroy the King's Tower before the attacking party takes down one of the three towers, the boat's defense counts as a victory.
When attacking the enemy ship's defenses, you'll want to plan your attack based on which tower tower has the weaker card composition. Similarly, you'll want to build your defense deck so that they can't break through before you take down their king rook.
You can try out your boat defense pack by tapping on the deck slot in your clan ship.

Best Ship Defense Decks in Clash Royale
The cards you use in your Boat Defense are not up to tournament standards. They will remain at the same level they are in your inventory. So if you don't have all your cards maxed out, you should think carefully about which cards to include in your ship's defense.
That being said, several deck setups have proven more successful for defending ships in Clan Wars. You will find these top tips for the best Clash Royale decks in the Boat Defense game mode below.
Ship Defense #1 (Strong Attack)
|
Left turret |
Middle turret |
The right turret |
|---|---|---|
|
A giant skeleton |
Pekka |
Golem |
|
Hog Rider |
A dragon |
Royal Giant |
|
Mega Knight |
Electro Giant |
Sparky |
|
Valkyrie |
Spear Goblins |
The Dark Prince |
This deck is all about offense. To be fair, most decks defend boats Clash Royale work better when you put in many winning conditions. Instead of trying to run out the clock and defend your rooks, you'll be able to go on the offensive and take down your opponent's King rook with this deck set up.
This deck is as close to Beatdown decks as you can get Clash RoyaleBoat Defense game mode. With cards like Golem, Giant, Pekka, and Sparky, your opponent will have a hard time dealing any noticeable damage to your tower before you take down their King's Rook and secure the win.
Ship Defense #2 (Balanced Defense and Offense)
|
Left turret |
Middle turret |
The right turret |
|---|---|---|
|
Ice Spirit |
A skeleton army |
Fisherman |
|
Electro Spirit |
Rage |
Witch mother |
|
Heal the Spirit |
Skeleton dragons |
Night witch |
|
Elite barbarians |
King of skeletons |
The Dark Prince |
While the first deck includes several win conditions to overwhelm the opponent, this one includes spam units that work in much the same way but offer slightly more defense. The left tower uses elite barbarians along with three ghost cards to complement it when attacking.
The Right Turret, on the other hand, uses Mother Witch, which can turn enemy units into Cursed Hogs and build a solid counterattack. It is a reliable ship defense deck this can work well even if you don't max out these cards.
Ship Defense #3 (Strong Defense)
|
Left turret |
Middle turret |
The right turret |
|---|---|---|
|
Bowler |
Royal Recruits |
Goblins |
|
A magical archer |
Bandit |
The Three Musketeers |
|
Barbarian barrel |
Earthquake |
Ice Spirit |
|
Dart Goblin |
Musketeer |
Balloon |
The third package recommended here has a lot going for it defensive potential to prevent your opponent from breaking through to your towers. A combination of Bowler, Royale Recruits, and three Musketeers can easily stop your opponent's attacks in their tracks, regardless of which side they choose to attack.
The only weakness of this deck is that it does won't work well in attack, because you only use one win condition. Instead of taking down your opponent's king rook, your goal with this deck is to stick to the defense and prevent your opponent from doing too much damage to your rooks.
Clash Royale's Boat Defense offers a refreshing twist on the traditional 1v1 game mode. The packages described above should serve as a solid starting point. Feel free to swap cards as needed and add your own personal touches to these decks.
