Pokemon fan builds incredible Charmander sculpture out of pumpkins
A Pokemon fan is giving the internet the perfect way to honor the fall season after finding a giant Charmander statue made almost entirely out of pumpkins.
One such topic came from Reddit user TheRealPdGaming, who shared an image of a Pokémon that was cut from the second generation games to the series' official subreddit, claiming that it was the basis for the Curse move. According to user Norowara, a creature originally intended to appear in Game Boy Color titles Pokemon Gold and Silver, where this move originally came from.
Cut Pokémon adds a spooky tradition to the old move
Another fan elaborated on the subject in the comments, stating that Norowara was supposedly able to evolve as early as level one into a panda-like Pokemon named Kyonpan, but that would prevent him from learning Curse, which he gains at level 100. Since evolving in Pokemon typically means a large stat boost and new moves, this would require players to sacrifice his second form to learn the move since 100 is the highest level attainable.
In the games, Curse's effects vary depending on the type of Pokémon using it. Ghost types get a more unique effect as they halve their HP to curse the target, draining a quarter of their health each turn. For all other types, the Curse simply affects the target's stats, reducing their speed and increasing their attack and defense.
Speculation surrounding Norowara's main gimmick claims that trainers have to insert a pin inserted into him every time he goes up, which may have proved too dark for the intended audience. Of course, the series is no stranger to its darker elements, and fans like the one who created the Halloween-themed redesigns for Ghost-type Pokemon Gastly have embraced them openly.
