Destiny 2 Monument of Triumph Secret Cutscene and Ending
Fate 2The Monument of Triumph update features a secret cutscene with Zavala (and later Ikora) in the tower where Zavala gives a speech about what duty means to him and how it has affected his life. Now that things are calmer than before, he decides to step down as commander of the Vanguard, and that's when Ikora walks in and is asked to take on the mantle. It's unclear if this means Zavala will no longer be a commander or if he'll step down from Vanguard entirely, but it's a story that deserves to be continued.

Even more so is what happens next, as players can then travel to the EDZ and go to the Traveler's Shard, find the Taken portal and approach it. They will then be taken to the Traveler's Shard, where the Ships stand. He is then used as a vessel, as the Nine normally is, but instead is an “unknown voice”, speaking of the final confrontation with the Guardian. This is most likely The Winnower, the same entity that spoke to Oryx and The Witness, among others, and that played the Flower Game with the Gardener. That's basically confirmation Fate 2's Fate Saga was supposed to end with the Nine uniting, only for the Conqueror to emerge and become the greatest threat.
To unlock the cutscene with Fate 2's Zavala and then a dialogue with The Winnower, players must complete the seven “upper left” triumphs in various sections of the Monument of Triumph card. They can then watch a cutscene interacting with the Traveler's shard in the tower and wait until evening. After this cutscene, The Winnower dialogue will be unlocked. To make it appear, players must travel to the EDZ, specifically The Sludge, and travel through the forest that leads to the Traveler's Shard from the Red War. There is a Taken portal there and interacting with it will trigger a sequence.
