EA Game is shutting down on February 17th

EA confirmed that in 2025 another of its games, as EA Sports UFC 3 will be closed on February 17. EA retired a wide range of its games in 2024, and as the 2025 calendar continues to take shape, it's clear that the same will be true for next year as well.

So far, EA has confirmed 10 games that will be discontinued in 2025, nine of which are for January. The first game from EA to be discontinued in 2025 is Rory McIlroy PGA Tour on January 16, subsequently The Simpsons: Tapped Out January 24th. Then, on January 29, EA's seven mobile games will end, p Blood & Glory: Immortals, Contract Killer: Sniper, Classic deer hunter, Dino Hunter: Deadly Shores, Eternity Warriors 4, Frontline Commando 2and Front Command: D-Day all are scheduled to cease operations on January 29.

The 12-year-old Simpsons game is shutting down

The long-running game The Simpsons has revealed that it will be shutting down in the near future, upsetting long-time fans of the title.

Now it has been confirmed EA Sports UFC 3 will be discontinued on February 17, 2025, just over seven years after it first hit store shelves. Developed by EA Canada and released in 2018 on PS4 and Xbox One, EA Sports UFC 3 it earned mostly positive reviews at the time of its release, although its microtransactions were controversial. Like other EA games, it offers extensive online features, so when it shuts down on February 17th, all those features will cease to exist.

Although it is definitely disappointing UFC 3 is shutting down, the good news is that there are newer UFC games that are still fully playable. summers of 2020 UFC 4 it still has an online feature, just like 2023 UFC 5. actually UFC 5 still getting substantial updates. EA has not announced any plans to end online services for these specific games, although it will eventually happen. It's clear that it's only a matter of time before games like these lose their online features, so consumers need to take that into account whenever they buy them.

Fortunately, the vast majority of newer EA games can be played without actually buying them. If someone signs up for EA Play or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, they get access to new EA games usually within six months of their release. This allows players to play the EA titles they are interested in without purchasing the games directly. It's by no means a perfect solution, but it might make it sting less whenever the game shuts down its online modes or is removed.
