They had no idea what happened or why it happened. At this point, they don't even know who their enemy is, which makes the fight against those from the demon realm even more difficult.

Unless there is an external information source that communicates with Goku and the others, there is no way for them to ever know what exactly happened to them and they will be stuck in these bodies forever. However, Dragon Ball Daima episode 2 will see Goku and the others learn about what happened to them, and from there it will further lay the path to finally regaining their normal bodies, as well as dealing with the impending threat.

Fans got a glimpse of Gloria in the last episode, and the preview certainly highlighted it enough. Actually the name Dragon Ball Daima episode 2 is Glorio. This means that the entire episode will be about him and fans are sure that he will eventually play a major role in Goku's adventure in the demon realm. So far, it looks like Glorio is not entirely happy with Gomah's decision and that he has a problem with it. The reason he doesn't like it hasn't been revealed yet, but since Gomah is on the throne of the Demon Realm, maybe it has something to do with how he came to power, or it could also be a personal grudge of sorts.
