7 Reclining figures

• First place: Streets of Silent Hill

Prone figures are the first monsters players encounter in the game. They look like wild, straight-jacketed demons who like to roam the streets or slither across the ground like a snake.

Their ground form is also incredibly fast, and if players aren't careful, there is one disturbing monster in the game. The worst thing about them is their spewing of an acidic liquid. When fighting with melee weapons, it's hard to dodge through all their muck Silent Hill 2 such as a wooden plank or pipe.

6 Spider mannequins

There's a new enemy Silent Hill 2 which has no official name. They look like mannequins because they are nothing more than legs sewn onto a torso. However, the proportions differ with the legs and these nightmares can crawl, so spider mannequins sound like a nickname at the very least.

They appear in Toluca Prison, which is already a terrible place because the lighting is dim, giving these creatures perfect cover as they scurry around the walls and ceiling. They are difficult to see and hit with weapon weapons, making them an unnerving enemy.

5 Abstract dad

Abstract daddy is one of Silent Hill 2 few bosses. It looks like two people turned into each other and then stuck to the door as well. This huge monster will be waiting for the player at the end of the Toluca prison area as a manifestation of Angelina's childhood trauma regarding her father.

It's slow but can break through walls like the Kool-Aid Man, but less enticing because Abstract Daddy doesn't drink fun drinks. Breaking through walls uninvited is scary enough, but the design is just as disturbing.

4 Flesh Lip

Flesh Lip is the next boss Silent Hill 2 it's less intimidating in terms of power, but the design is nightmare fuel. The body of this thing is encased in a steel cage, and the only part that sticks out is its moth, which is located at the bottom.

That means the mouth is in a private area and that alone is not fun to think about. Flesh Lip hides in the ceiling and then pounces on unsuspecting players below. It's a tricky boss fight that gets harder once the cage loosens and she grows metal spider limbs. This situation is not good because the room is also small.

3 Tangerines

Three lips are better than one

Mandarins are the toughest enemies in the game, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're the scariest. Players will encounter them for the first time in the Labyrinth and may not even know they are there. Many of the floors in the Labyrinth are made of steel mesh, and bugs are also everywhere, helping to hide their presence.

Mandarins hide under the mesh and climb around like monkeys. Their head is one large set of lips and each arm also has a large mouth at the end. Tangerines make Flesh Lip look timid in comparison and are hard to kill due to their climbing abilities and whip-like tongues as well.

2 Mannequins

Dummies are near the top because they ignore conventional warnings. The radio won't explode in static, but there will be a faint distraction along with a slight flicker, so players won't be completely lost if they pay attention.

Dummies remain motionless like statues until players get close enough and then attack like wild animals. Their speed is unnatural, along with their animations, which can sometimes resemble a stop-motion movie. They are among the scariest video game monsters of all time.

1 Pyramid head

The most famous character in the series

Pyramid Head is the poster child Silent Hill series and not only Silent Hill 2. It looks the most humanoid of the monsters in the game, but still conveys an unnatural coolness. There is a giant triangular metal hat that he wears on his head along with a giant sword. Players first encounter him in the hallway of the Wood Side Apartments.

He just stands there, looking at James through the iron bars. It's strange that James doesn't say anything, but that's a problem throughout the journey. Either way, Pyramid Head is iconic as a monster and boss that stands out even among playable characters in terms of recognition.
