God Of War fan Laufey will notice interesting environmental details that tie in with the lore

God of War Laufey seems to have removed the interaction indicators that were in all the Norse games, which actually makes a lot of sense in the canon of the series.

While it hasn't been that long since the last big God of War game, last week's groundbreaking reveal of God of War Laufey, a brand new game that focuses on Kratos' wife Faye in the afterlife of the gods, was still a big moment for fans. The reveal trailer gave us just enough footage to get us excited while leaving fans with plenty of mysteries to speculate about.

Since the reveal of God of War Laufey, fans have been poring over the lengthy reveal trailer, trying to find out as much as possible about the game, from Faye's mysterious new weapon to the identity of the divisive Phranque and Rue. While we wait for answers to these mysteries, one eagle-eyed fan noticed a very interesting detail about the setting that relates to the Norse games.

God Of War Laufey has seemingly removed environmental tags and lives up to tradition

Faye can hardly leave herself hints

Redditor JaxTheNukaEXE on the God of War subreddit pointed out that God of War Laufey's footage is completely missing the interaction indicators that littered the environments in the Norse games. God of War's equivalent of yellow is nowhere to be seen in Laufey's opening section, so Faye has to figure out where to climb.

While you could call this just a response to the criticism these games have received for having too many front players, JaxTheNukaEXE pointed out that it actually makes a lot of sense within the God of War canon. In the Norse games, interaction markers are said to be left behind by Faye (and possibly other giants) to help guide Kratos and Atreus on their way.

If you're worried about accessibility, I'm sure Laufey will have his own unique version of interaction marks that we just didn't see during the reveal.

Since this is Faye's first time in Everywen, and she's usually the one who leaves these hints to help others, it makes a lot of sense that they're suddenly nowhere to be seen in Laufey. Of course, on a gameplay level this is explained by Faye being able to jump whenever she wants, but it's nice that it ties into God of War canon as well.
