Almost six months after its release, Homeworld 3 has failed to recover from public opinion as it has mixed reviews on Steam, but lifetime reviews are mostly negative. In fact, according to PCGamesN, while Homeworld 3 over 9,000 players registered on launch day, currently averaging only about 60 concurrent players.
The free November update for the game will reportedly include new game modes and material, providing a much-needed course correction for the concurrent player base. Whether or not more updates will be released in the future and how long they will take to come out is uncertain, as Blackbird Interactive has in the past prioritized the health of its employees over development efforts.
Denuvo has spoken out in the past about toxic players and the attitude many have towards its anti-tampering software, which has been a mainstay for years to prevent piracy and unlicensed distribution of games.
