How Pokemon Pocket's “Energy Zone” Works

Pokemon TCG Pocket brings a new perspective on classical energy mechanics from a physical point of view Pokemon TCG. In this version, energy cards are completely removed from the game. Instead, the game automatically generates energy for the player – similar to the action point mechanic in games like Marvel Snap. This change simplifies combat and is consistent with the absence of price cards. What is Pokemon Pocket Energy?

IN Pokemon TCG Pocket, Energy is mana, or action point. To attack, use a Pokemon's ability, or bench, you must attach the required amount of energy to its card. Energies come in different types and each card has specific energy requirements for its actions. Stronger attacks usually require more energy points.

Energy zone

Unlike the physical Pokemon TCG, Pokemon TCG Pocket does not use energy cards. Instead, it features a new mechanic called “Zone of Energy” that generates action points for players. At the beginning of each round, the energy zone produces one energy. If your deck has multiple types of energy, the energy generated will be determined by the RNG. In short, you don't get to choose which energy type you get unless your deck is assigned to only one energy type.

Energy type

There are eight types of energy pokemon pocket: Grass, Fire, Water, Psychic, Dark, Lightning, Combat and Metal. Additionally, there is a special category of Pokémon known as “colorless”. These cards can work with any of the above energy types.

How can you change the energy type of the deck?

1. Go to the 'Battle' menu.

2. Click on 'Decks' in the bottom left corner.

3. Select My Packages.

4. Select the required package (if you don't have one, you should build the package first).

5. Click 'Change' in the top right corner.

6. Select the Energy option.

7. Customize or change the energy of your deck.

You can assign up to three different energy types to each pack. These energies are exclusive to the deck and only affect that particular build. If you assign more than one type of energy, the energy you receive at the start of each round will be random. For META decks v pokemon pocket, bonding with one type of energy is recommended to ensure consistency.

The best way to balance your energy distribution is to include a few basic colorless Pokemon in your deck. These Pokémon offer alternative evolution paths or defensive playstyles without having to add different energy types.

IN Genetic Apex expansion from Pokemon Pocket, the only way to get more than one energy point per round is to play Misty. This Supporter card grants one water-type energy each time you flip a coin and land on heads. Misty will continue to give you water energy until you throw coins and land on tails.

It is likely that future expansions will introduce more Supporter cards with abilities similar to Misty's for other energy types. Until then, though, Misty is the only way to get extra energy in a round.

Misty is a great Supporter card if your deck isn't water-oriented, but contains a few colorless Pokémon. Her water-type energy can be used on these colorless cards.

Are there special energies in a Pokemon's pocket?

Current expansion pokemon pocket does not include any special energy cards. In the physical Pokemon TCGthese cards offer additional abilities such as double points or free retreats. However, with Pocket's new Energy Zone mechanic, it is unlikely that special energy cards will be introduced into the game.
