How to get Flittle in Pokemon GO

Traditionally a special debut Pokémon during the events of Pokemon Go can be obtained as rewards through timed or special research tasks. In the spring marathon 2026, it works a little differently.

Here are the only two ways to meet Flittle during this event:

  • The first way to get Flittle is to hatch a 5km egg and hope for the best! During the event, Flower Crown Pichu, Togepi and Happin may also appear in the 5km Vejce.

  • The second way to get Flittle is to go through the GO Pass. By completing tasks such as spinning PokeStops/Gyms, exploring, catching Pokemon, winning raids and hatching eggs. Flittle is a rank 19, 30 and 60 rewardwhich gives you three chances to catch it.

Everyone will have access to GO Pass rewards, but if you want to get Flittle encounters faster, you can pay $4.99 for Deluxe pass or $6.99 for Deluxe+. The more you pay, the faster you progress through the levels. Just remember that GO Pass rewards will expire on Wednesday, May 20th.

How to Evolve Flittle into Espathra

Once you get Flittle, you can evolve him on his profile screen by giving him 50 candies. Getting all the Flittle Candy can take some time, but you can speed up the process by setting Flittle as your Buddy Pokemon and exploring. Also, when you encounter Flittle in GO Pass, make sure you use Pinap Berries for double Candy.

Can Flittle be Shiny in Pokemon GO?

At the time of writing there is no shiny version of Flittle or Espathra Pokemon Go. Usually, with Pokemon debuts like this, shiny variants come much later.
