Battlefield 6 is getting its own free Battle Royale experience to celebrate the launch of Season 1. Battlefield RedSec takes the player to Fort Lyndon, a massive open map where troops deploy into an area, fight for survival and fight until only one team is left, all while escaping a deadly firestorm.
As a free-to-play title, Battlefield RedSec is shaping up to be one of the biggest Battle Royale releases of the year. However, some players may not be sure how to get inside. If you're having trouble downloading the game, here's a quick guide how to install Battlefield RedSec so you can jump as soon as it starts.
How to download Battlefield RedSec
How to download/pre-download RedSec via Battlefield 6
First to download Battlefield RedSec before starting it is done Battlefield 6. For those who own a premium title, Battlefield RedSec can be pre-downloaded and installed before running directly via Battlefield 6thus reducing the waiting time for a jump. To do this, follow these steps:

Go to Settings and then System.

Go to Settings and select Install/Uninstall.

Control Battlefield REDSEC and wait for the installation process to complete.
Once the download is complete, players will be able to jump right in Battlefield RedSec once it starts on October 28th at 8am PT. For those who jump at launch, you can still download Battlefield RedSec over Battlefield 6and you may have already done so when you installed the Season 1 Content Update. Be sure to check again Battlefield RedSec is installed as described above.
Or for those who have Battlefield 6 in the EA app you can also download Battlefield RedSec by doing the following:

Get out Battlefield 6 and select Manage.

Select Edit Installation.

How to download RedSec for free-to-play players
For those who don't own yet Battlefield 6 and want to switch to completely free mode, Battlefield RedSec can also be downloaded directly from your platform's store. The game will be available on EA App (and Epic Games Store via EA App), Steam, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
However unlike Battlefield 6 owners, free-to-play players cannot pre-download the Battle Royale mode before its release. Instead, if you're a pure free-to-play player, you'll have to wait until the mode launches on October 28th at 8am PT, when Battlefield RedSec will officially launch on each platform's storefront. Once available, it can be downloaded completely free as a standalone version and it launched directly on its own without Battlefield 6.
