How To Get 6 Star Fast Friends In Roblox: Sonic Speed Simulator

Quick Links

Sonic Speed Simulator is an official Sega game on the Roblox platform. In Sonic Speed Simulator, you’ll be zipping around at the speed of sound, unlocking different characters from the Sonic franchise. Picking up Chaos Orbs will let you level up and speed up, whilst every step you take levels up your character to give you bonuses.

Both of these can be multiplied by Fast Friends, which will allow you to progress exponentially faster – but how do you level them up, without wasting too many materials? Today, we will dive into the mathematics behind Fast Friends, and answering this question.

What Are Fast Friends

ESP Silver, surrounded by five Fast Friends in Roblox: Sonic Speed Simulator.

The ultimate form of regular Friends is called Fast Friends, and they copy the best basic stat from every Friend in your inventory and then multiply that by a percentage.

To give you an example of this, let’s say you have two Chao: One has +10 Rings and +20 XP, and the other has +20 Rings and +10 XP. Instead of choosing which to equip, you can have a Fast Friend who is going to take only the best stats of both of these and replicate that one – giving it +20 Rings and +20 XP. After this, the numbers are multiplied by the percentage that the Fast Friend has – so if it replicates at 110%, you will get +22 Rings and +22 XP instead.

Every Fast Friend, along with this replicating ability, has at least one bonus stat that never goes away. This can be at least one of the following:

  • Magnet – allowing you to pick up items off the ground from further away.
  • Stamina – allowing you to boost longer.
  • Luck – boosting your chances of getting legendary Chao and Trails from Vending Machines.
  • Event – boosting the amount of progress you gain in Events.
  • Air – increases the amount of time you can spend underwater for non-robotic characters.

Finally, Fast Friends are the only Friends in the game that boost your Steps – every step you take is counted towards your character mastery, and this stat changes how many steps are counted for every step you take.

How To Get Fast Friends

The Fast Friend Podium in Green Hill Zone, in Roblox: Sonic Speed Simulator

Fast Friends are pretty nifty, right? Well, they don’t cost much either, as you can get one for as low as 10 Red Star Rings. Since we will be talking about these Red Star Rings a lot, we will refer to them as RSR from now on – as they’re called that in-game as well.

Cream And Chocola

There are two Fast Friends you can get for free, but you can only get one of each and they are untradeable. The two Fast Friends in question are Cream and Chocola, and they can be obtained from the Events Cream’s Friends and Chao School, respectively.

For Cream, you need to fuse five level 25 Chao in a Fusion Machine, and for Chocola, you need to obtain a Chao with a Magnet bonus stat in Hill Top Zone’s Vending Machines.

Vending Machine Fast Friends

The Fast Friend Vending Machine in Green Hill Zone, with ESP Silver in front of it, in Roblox: Sonic Speed Simulator.

The rest of the Fast Friend roster can be obtained from Fast Friend Vending Machines in almost every Zone.

  • Toy Robot Sonic and Toy Robot Tails can be obtained in the Green Hill Zone Fast Friend Vending Machine, each attempt costing 10 RSR.
  • Toy Robot T.H. Knuckles and Toy Robot Shadow can be obtained in the Lost Valley Zone Fast Friend Vending Machine, each attempt costing 20 RSR.
  • Toy Robot Knuckles and Toy Robot Amy can be obtained in the Emerald Hill Zone Fast Friend Vending Machine, each attempt costing 30 RSR.
  • Toy Robot Silver and Toy Robot Blaze can be obtained in the New Yoke City Zone Fast Friend Vending Machine, each attempt costing 40 RSR.
  • Toy Robot Cream and Toy Robot Blaze can be obtained in the Hill Top Zone Fast Friend Vending Machine, each attempt costing, strangely, 10 RSR.
  • Lastly, Toy Robot Metal Sonic can be obtained in the Cyber Station Zone regular Friends Vending Machine, each attempt costing 500 million Rings, instead of RSR.

Cyber Station’s Friends Vending Machine is the
only way
to get Fast Friends without spending any RSR, but instead cost a ludicrous amount of Rings. Experienced players find this option to be
the most affordable
, though, as the amount of RSR they gain decreases and the amount of Rings they gain increases in the late game.

Other Fast Friends

The Race Shop in Green Hill Zone, in Roblox: Sonic Speed Simulator.

There are very frequently podiums with Fast Friends you can purchase for Robux instead, and these don’t appear anywhere else. Limited-time Events sometimes have Fast Friends, like the Holiday Events, and the Race Shop sometimes offers Fast Friends you can obtain elsewhere for Race tickets.

Unless you don’t have any RSR to spare,
we strongly don’t recommend
buying the Race Shop Fast Friends – the price is just too steep, and instead, you can earn RSR by buying characters with Race Tickets from the Race Shop and trading them for RSR with other players. This will ultimately be more profitable, too.

How To Level Up Fast Friends

The Fast Friend Evolution Machine, where Fast Friends can be fused, in Green Hill Zone of Roblox: Sonic Speed Simulator.

Fast Friends can be leveled up through their Star system. Every Fast Friend starts off at 1-Star and can be upgraded to a 6-Star, which is the maximum level.

Fast Friends are leveled up via fusing, and the system they use is different from regular Friends; one Fast Friend is selected as the one being upgraded, and up to five other ones fuse into the one selected in order to upgrade him. The Star level of the five Fast Friends that are being sacrificed must be equal to, or smaller than, the Star level of the one being upgraded; 3-Star Fast Friends can’t be fused to level up a 2-Star Fast Friend.

Do not use Chocola or Cream
to upgrade a different Fast Friend, as these will be
lost forever
in the fusion process.

On top of the cost of the Fast Friends themselves, each upgrade attempt costs RSR, depending on which Star level you’re trying to get. Every time a Fast Friend is leveled up, their bonus stats increase by a flat amount (usually +2), their Step bonus doubles, and their replicating percentage increases by 10%.

At 1 Star, the percentage is 90%, at 2 Stars, it’s 100%, and so on until you hit 6 Stars, where instead of 140%, the percentage jumps to 150%. Steps at 1 Star have a bonus of +5, at 2 Stars +10, and so on until you hit 6 Stars, where the bonus is +160.

How To Get 6-Star Fast Friends

Chocola, doing a cute pose in Roblox: Sonic Speed Simulator

To fuse, up to five Fast Friends can be used, but that doesn’t mean that it has to be five. Each Fast Friend used adds a percent chance of the fusion succeeding, up to 100%. If the fusion is less than 100%, and it fails, the Fast Friends aren’t used up, but the attempt still costs RSR.

When leveling up a 1-Star to a 2-Star, this is very simple, as each 1-Star Fast Friend used adds a 20% chance to the calculation. Later on, though, when trying to level up a 4-star, you can use any X-Star Fast Friend in the mix – each one adding a different percentage to the chance of it succeeding.

You might ask: Why not just use five Fast Friends of the same level? Well, we can, but if we do that at every level – a 6-Star Fast Friend would cost us over 46,000 RSR even if we only ever used the Cyber Station Vending Machine, where every 1-Star Fast Friend only costs Rings (not to mention, we would need to spend 312 billion Rings on top of that on the Vending Machine itself).

What Is The Optimal Solution

ESP Silver, in a thinking pose in Roblox: Sonic Speed Simulator.

We did the math, we measured the amount of pixels each Fast Friend increases the percentage bar for, and we found that it mostly depends on your Luck stat when you’re trying to get 1-Star Fast Friends from Vending Machines. As each attempt costs RSR, we also included the percent chance of the upgrade failing into the equation to get a rough estimate of how much X-Star Fast Friend costs.

The RSR costs are calculated
based on an average
, so your results may vary. This is meant to give you an idea of
how much RSR you might need
, but the actual amount could be bigger or smaller than what we got
if you get lucky
.

We will cover two sides of the story, one where you have no Luck bonus stat, and one where you have 100 Luck bonus stat, as this is the amount of Luck you’d have if you had five max level Fused Crimson Wisps at +20 Luck each. If you have RSR to spare, the Hill Top Zone Fast Friend Vending Machine is the best for getting 1-Star Fast Friends. If you’d rather spend Rings, use the Cyber Station one.
