Metaphor: ReFantazio it has both a real-time combat system and a turn-based combat system known as Squad Combat. While team combat is the main focus of the game, the real-time combat that takes place in the overworld is a useful feature that gives players an edge in battle.
Weaker enemies can be outright killed in this real-time combat system, while stronger enemies can only be stunned, giving players a free turn at the start of battle if they choose to attack. There is a specific gap between levels for killing enemies in the battle for the world; here's exactly what it is and the general levels for each enemy color.

Enemies that appear blue when using Fae Sight can be killed using real-time combat and only enemies that are three levels lower than the main character or more will appear blue. This is only determined by the protagonist himself and will not take into account the rest of the pool of any equipped archetypes. Enemies that appear blue will take a lot of damage with each attack in the overworld, although the exact number of attacks will vary depending on the protagonist's archetype and level.
Physically focused archetypes tend to deal more damage in the overworld and can make it easier to kill enemies, while magic focused archetypes tend to deal less damage, but will usually defeat a weak enemy in two attacks at most.
If an enemy is weak to a certain type of physical damage, their
weakness can be struck in the overworld
deal increased damage.

Enemies marked with Fae Sight will appear as either blue, yellow, or red. Whenever you first see a new enemy, it will appear gray and have a question mark where its level should be. To get their level and have them change to the correct color, simple attack in Global Combat or face them in Squad Combat. While the colors give a good general idea of the threat level for the enemy, there is an exact level difference here.

Most of the enemies in the current dungeon will appear yellow, and the turning blue of the dungeon's basic enemies is a great indicator of whether you're ready to face that dungeon's boss or not, depending on your difficulty.
