Crossover fighters always sound amazing on paper. The concept of throwing a bunch of beloved characters into the arena and letting them excel appeals to the base desires of many gamers, harkening back to heated schoolyard conversations about which superhero could beat whom in a fight. But while the concept is sound, many crossover fighters can run into problems when it comes to realizing that vision, and that was the case PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
Although it has icons like Nathan Drake, Kratos, Raiden, Jak and Daxter and Sackboy, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale on its launch in 2012, it couldn't quite stick the landing. Astro Bot, which debuted in 2013, has been around a lot longer than some fans might realize. If a PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale 2 were to be released in the near future, Astro Bot would be an almost guaranteed selection for his list. And while his cute appearance may cause fans to doubt Astro Bot's combat prowess, appearances can be deceiving.
Astro Bot offers players a wide variety of power-ups throughout the game. Most of these power-ups could hypothetically be used by Astro as a form of attack PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale 2. Astro's Twin-Frog Gloves could hit opponents from a distance, while his Barkster the Bulldog jetpack could propel him across the arena. The Monkey Climber power-up could be used to grab objects or throw opponents, and the Elephant Hose-Nose could vacuum up enemies and launch them out of the arena.
